Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 14 (슈룹) was released on Netflix on November 27, 2022, and has reeled in most reactions from the audience regarding the newly wed Crown Prince Seong-nam (Moon Sang-min) and Crown Princess Cheong-ha (Oh Ye-ju). When the series had just premiered, the viewers instantly took to their social media accounts to express their love for Seong-nam, but now as we’re closing in on the season finale, those feelings have now found a new lovely subject in Oh Ye-ju’s character.
The latest episode carried on with its serious demeanour as Queen Hwang-ryeong (Kim Hye-soo) and Seong-nam banded together again to resolve the two related murders in the palace. However, the Queen can’t call it a day after accomplishing a task until the courtly schemes from Queen Dowager’s (Kim Hae-sook) end make their rounds. As always, the older queen took to her plots of spreading rumours concerning the new young couple and Hwa-ryeong had to clean up the mess, even though her hands were already tied up in the investigation.
Hwa-ryeong calling in a nursemaid to make preparations for the couple’s royal consummation resulted in varied reactions from the fans. While some got emotional over how far their favourite romantic ship has come since the beginning, other couldn’t stop chuckling at how the nursemaid and her antics won their hearts in a single episode.
Some more responses were recorded regarding the same, in which, audiences spoke up about how they’re tired of Seong-nam brushing off Cheong-ha every now and then, despite her putting her best foot forward to make this relationship work. It’s quite evident that Seong-nam likes her just as much, but his lacking actions in terms of expressing the same to her got on the nerves of the viewers.
Other common responses across the app were that of appreciation for Oh Ye-ju’s beauty and the headstrong conviction of her character while dealing with Queen Dowager. One of the Twitter users even applauded the casting choices, especially in the case of Prince Ui-seong, Physician Kwon and his younger persona, with their identical similarities highlighting their relations with each other.
Few others also discussed the issue of the throne. Choi Won-young’s portrayal of the present King (and his dynamic with the Queen) in the palace has received constant positive feedback from the fans. Even after last night episode’s episode, people are still extolling him as a better king and pointing out that Kwon and Toji are merely in it for the seat of power and nothing else.
