Tomo-chan Is a Girl Episode 9 Review and Recap – Misuzu’s Successful Tactic

Another hilarious episode of Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is here, and we are back again with its review. Today’s episode was entirely focused on Carol and her relationship with Misaki. We get a sneak peek into their past when Carol first met him. From the very first meeting, Misaki gets smitten with Carol’s beauty and even compares her with an angel.
Now, in the present, we see him taking karate lessons from Tomo’ss father, who runs a famous karate dojo. He quickly analyses Misaki to be a weak boy but then realises that he might have an evil side inside him, which is very reminiscent of him going berserk when he previously saw Carol in distress.
The training begins, and he is not at all comfortable with the program. The whole training process is extremely hard, and only Tomo and Jun can follow it. Finally, Misaki gets to duel with Jun, and Jun would have gone easy on him had he not mentioned that he wants Tomo’s acknowledgement. Becoming jealous, Jun beats Misaki, but not before Misaki lands one single but powerful punch at him.
Afterwards in Tomo’s room, Misaki reveals that he is doing all this so that he can protect Carol. From here, we already recognise that he must be in love with her just like she is with him. He confirms this suspicion when Misuzu confronts him. Misaki quickly accepts his feelings but says he will not express them to Carol because he doesn’t think he is rightly suited for her as he is not strong enough.

Misuzu then thinks of a plan to take things into her hand and help these two idiots, but that plan definitely results in overwhelming consequences. She goes to Carol, and to make her drop the act of a happy-go-lucky person, tells her that Misaki is not in love with her and only sees her as a family member. The outcome is something that you would have to find out yourself.
Verdict
This anime delivered another great episode, which did not have many funny moments and was more character driven. We finally see love blooming for another adorable couple. Now, only Misuzu is left, and we would love to see her with the right person as well. Watch this anime on Crunchyroll.
