The 7th episode of Tomo-chan Is a Girl or Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! (トモちゃんは女の子!) is here, and this episode was just hilarious with its different character’s quirky antics and the random situations they fall into. Now without further ado, let us jump into this review.

Still From Tomo-chan Is a Girl

This series is that much-awaited anime adaptation of our beloved romcom manga of the same name. Fans of this franchise are beyond ecstatic that this perfection of a romcom is finally getting the proper treatment it needs, and we are excited to see how it goes.

The anime is directed by Nanba Hitoshi, who has worked on Anime like Fullmetal Alchemist, Hajime no Ippo, Gosick, etc. The sound director is Masanori Tsuchiya, who has given music to shows like Plastic Memories, Kenja no Mago, Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii, etc.

The opening song will be Kurae! Telepathy (くらえ! テレパシー)” performed by Maharajan. The ending theme is “yurukuru*love” performed by voice actors Rie Takahashi, Rina Hidaka, Sally Amaki.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Tomo-chan Is a Girl Episode 7 Review and Recap – Memories With Tomo

Still From Tomo-chan Is a Girl

Another hilarious episode of Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is here, and we are back again with its review. This episode starts with Jun’s monologue while he is running. We get a peek into his past while he remembers certain moments.

Jun moved to Tomo’s neighbourhood at a young age from Tokyo and had no friends in the beginning. The only thing he did was play games all day long. That is when Tomo finds him and tells him to let her try his game. She accidentally breaks the game, and that is what starts their friendship journey.

From then on, Jun and Tomo would play, but he would fall behind miserably for not being athletic enough. At times, Tomo would also come with Misuzu to play, and from their very first meeting, Jun and Misuzu would hate each other. The incident that deepened Jun and Tomo’s relationship was when he got bullied, and some kids took away his game.

Tomo fought with them and brought his game back. But a tearful Jun, feeling indebted, gave his game to Tomo and promised that he would take it back the day he would be stronger than her and would be able to protect her. Now he is more powerful than Tomo, but he refuses to acknowledge that as he doesn’t want to face the changes in his relationship with Tomo.

The next segment focused on the beach day, that Jun spent with Tomo, Misuzu and Carol. He had great plans regarding how he would play with Tomo on the beach, but then he saw her in her swimsuit, and everything went out of his head.

He is quite fond of big breasts, and Tomo looking well endowed in a swimsuit does not sit well with his heart. This section was absolutely hilarious, as Jun’s expressions were not only making Misuzu laugh but me as well.

By the end of the beach segment, I, along with Misuzu, was sure that Jun could never see Tomo as anything else, other than a girl, ever again. From here on, hopefully, more romance will be shown between Jun and Tomo.

Verdict

As usual, this episode was very funny, with some endearing moments. Apart from our protagonists, Misuzu is a treat to watch every time as she adds so much to the entertainment value. Watch this anime on Crunchyroll.
