The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3 Episode 7 Review: First, Memorise the Answers; Later, Hide the Money!

Yoo Jae-suk and Kwon Yu-ri are back in The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3, with new team members- Kim Dong-hyun and DEX. As they return to enter new realities and bring about more interesting scenarios, an entertaining and educative adventure awaits us all. The show brings new simulations and lessons to be learnt to ensure we are given more than just entertainment in this variety show.

“MC of the Nation” Yoo Jae-suk and Girls’ Generation Kwon Yu-ri are joined by “Stun Gun” Kim Dong-hyun and Single’s Inferno star DEX and are ready with an eight-episode-long adventure for us all.

The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

Episode 7 brings the representatives of mankind to a new zone- the Memorize Zone, where the four are taken to a unique campus experience but mostly to the horror side of it. The members are told their task for the day- memorise the answers to the questions provided for the first two hours and give a test in the next two hours.

With this, the members are sent to the library where they need to find the answers to the questions given to them by referring to the books around the library. The hint of where these books are provided with the questions, but they need to make sure not to make any noise in their quest for the answers or else they will be kicked out of the library for five minutes.

Along with this, many disturbances are placed around the library to make sure that the four make noise and are kicked out of the library. Thus, bypassing all these hurdles and disturbances, the four somehow find the answers they need by the time the two-hour limit is over. Soon, they are sent to the next stage of this zone- the testing zone where the time has come to a stop and they need to answer different questions to collect enough time that will help them succeed in this zone.

The members also need to pay attention to the fact that every time they fail a test, one of the members’ exit buttons will be automatically activated and once all four buttons are activated, the zone will come to an end with them failing. With this, the members make their way to enter the different rooms with details of the subject they’ll be questioned about, the time they will acquire, and the number of members who need to give the right answer.

While the task seems easy at first, they fail to succeed in the first two rooms and Dong-hyun and Yu-ri get their exit buttons activated. They move on to the other rooms and somehow manage to get the time reduced to within an hour with another member’s exit button getting activated.

Now, they have only one chance left and move on to the mythology room that Yu-ri is sure about. However, the question leaves them surprised as Yu-ri realises that it is the one that she is sceptical about. Finally, only Dex answers the question right while the other members answer it wrong, thus, bringing the zone to an end.

With this, the members fail the zone and their last chance to collect more Z coins as the next zone is going to be their final zone. The idea behind the Memorize zone is that with the advancing technology and people not needing to remember many things, our memory is not being used to its full capacity as we are getting heavily reliant on technology. Showing the importance of working up our minds, this one was prepared.

The members then are seen moving on to the next zone, the Hunter Zone, where their Z coins have been changed into cash. In this zone, the members are asked to hide their money by placing them in the envelopes provided and give them a chance to steal each others’ money by finding it.

With these instructions, the members are sent to hide their envelopes by filling them up with the amount they wish to hide. While they begin to use every trick in their books to hide the money around the building they are in with each other in mind, they are unaware of the bigger challenges coming their way.

Soon, the hiding time comes to an end and they are brought to the monitor room where they see the whole area on the screens in front of them. They are given new envelopes with labels of their names, and every time they find an envelope with another’s name, they need to change it to their name and hide it again. The members are then told that every time they find a dupe envelope, they will be sent here for 15 minutes while the others continue to search.

With this, the members are sent to look for the envelopes and not long after, Dong-hyun finds both Jae-suk and Yu-ri’s envelopes while Yu-ri finds a decoy envelope. Suddenly, an announcement arrives informing them of the Hunters arriving in the zone. These are the real hunters who are here to find the money hidden by the members around the building.

These hunters are Korea’s first official investigator, an expert auditor from Seoul City Hall’s Tax Collection Division, and more hunters who are set to come up in the next episode.

The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3 Episode 7 Review

This episode of The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3 was a real chaos as it brings about another intriguing, entertaining, and important lesson to us all. While the representatives of mankind are surely continuing their missions with heightened enthusiasm, the zones are getting better and with the sneak peek we have been given into the final zone, I can say that the season is set for a banger end.

Coming to the Memorize Zone, brought about an interesting concept though it did confuse me in the beginning with all the studying that was taking place amidst disturbances. Meanwhile, the Hunter Zone overtook the spotlight and made me forget most of the Memorize Zone which seemed more like a filler zone at that point.

However, the Hunter Zone is surely worth one and a half episodes as the chaos in this zone is going overboard with everyone involved in it. With some amazing hunters ready to find the money hidden, it has already caught our attention and eagerness to see what is to happen in the final episode.
