The Time Traveler’s Wife Ending Explained

The Time Traveler’s Wife Episode 6 ends on the day of Clare and Henry’s wedding. Due to stress, Henry has been time travelling a lot, which is why he seeks out his drug dealer friend to get something that will keep him grounded at the altar and not make him time travel. What follows is an aggravated version of Henry spiralling into time travelling.

Henry time travels multiple times in the future, only to end up finally in the timeline when he is 36 and Clare is 29. He gets to know that the older Henry has gone through a vasectomy, as every baby Clare conceived would time travel right out of the womb. This has enraged a fight between the older couple. The 28-year-old Henry, who is due at the altar in hours is upset about the turnabout of events in the future.

As the two Henrys get into a fight, both end up time travelling but, the result is the 36-year-old Henry ends up marrying the 20-year-old Clare and the 28-year-old Henry is stuck in the future with the 29-year-old Clare. The day is called Shoe Polish Day according to Clare as the older Henry puts on shoe polish to cover his grey hair.

In the future, the 29-year-old Clare and the 28-year-old Henry watch their wedding video together. And, in the present timeline, the 36-year-old Henry marries the 20-year-old Clare. The future couple talk about love and Henry says how sorry he is that at 36 he ends up getting a vasectomy depriving Clare of the blessing of a child.

The mid-credits scene arrives soon after, where the 29-year-old instigates the 28-year-old Henry to change the future for themselves as he has not had a vasectomy yet.
