The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 4 Review

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 3 ended rather abruptly, leaving fans worried about Conrad. In this episode, we pick up the pieces of the last one and move ahead to find ourselves amidst some romance and grief inter lapping.

In The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 4, it is revealed that Conrad has been suffering from panic attacks. When Steven discovers this, Conrad asks him to keep this knowledge to himself and not let others know. In this interaction and, some in the latter half of the episode, we see an old friendship between Steven and Conrad taking light. The first season showed us how close Steven is to Jeremiah. This season seems to be targeting the other brother and the friendship that the two share.

Things are not going well for the Fisher boys and Belly. Julia is hell-bent on selling the house and has decided to keep an open house. However, due to some technical issues, the open house cannot be conducted, leaving the kids feeling a little relaxed and Julia exhausted. Due to the house’s AC being broken and the temperature rising, the plan of going to the arcade comes up. Surprisingly, Skye is invited too.

Throughout The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 4, we witness the bond between the kids grow through fun, competition and games. Skye, Jeremiah and Conrad know each other better as cousins. Jeremiah finds more heart and faith in the friendship he shares with Belly and, the latter, on the other hand, finds a common ground with Conrad and recalls the memory of her past in the arcade.

Meanwhile, Laurel is away on her book-selling business and she meets an unexpected guest. We finally see and hear her be vocal about the loss of her best friend. And although she misses her children and has doubts, she strives forward with her healing and selling.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 4: Final Thoughts

The series is pacing just right to make us smile and cry in one episode. There were enough fun moments in this one to see the kids be kids but, the way the ending left us cold and shivering was completely off the charts. It is also nice to see Jeremiah get some time to develop and shine as a character because he too like Belly has internal monologues to guide us through. The tension between Jeremiah, Belly and Conrad is sure rising and, we will find ourselves again in their love triangle.
