The Night Manager Season 2 Ending Explained
The season opens with Jonathan Pine now working in a more understated role in the secret services and, with his team, runs a surveillance unit. Until, of course, he comes across a man he had seen working with Richard Onslow Roper and immediately suspects something amiss. Despite orders, he digs deeper and learns about Colombian arm dealer Teddy Dos Santos and immediately plans to get close to him through Roxana Bolaños, who, he assumes, has more information on the operation that Teddy is running.

However, his plans to catch Teddy in a hotel go awry after Roxana backstabs him, resulting in half of his team dying and him going into hiding. Desperate and realising that there are bigger plans here, he jumps right into pursuing Teddy and, using Roxana once more, this time blackmailing her with evidence that will destroy her life, he transforms himself into an alias and presents himself as a wealthy banker.
Having taken away Teddy’s funding with the help of Prosecutor Alejandro Gualteros, Pine walks right in with promises to fund his operation, all the while getting more intel on his plans.
Was Teddy working alone? What were his plans?

In a shocking twist towards the end of the runtime, Pine realises that he has been fed half-truths since the beginning by Angela Burr. Presumed to be dead, he finds Roper in front of him, working with Teddy, who turns out to be Roper’s illegitimate son. Incensed and realising the danger, he immediately gets into action while realising that this is all a ploy to bring a regime change in Colombia, in which the Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service, Mayra Cavendish, is also partaking.
Does Pine stop the arms from being delivered?

Using Roxana to get the arms list from Teddy, Pine ends up listening in on Roper’s private discussions with Juan Carrascal and realises that Roper is simply using Teddy to get what he wants. Afterwards, he plans on abandoning him and going off to England. Realising that Teddy is still reeling from abandonment issues, which are clouding his judgement, he tells him the truth about Roper’s plans, which devastates him.
Teddy and Pine, having become close allies, work together to divert the shipment to another location where Sally Price-Jones is waiting with the chief justice and confront Roper in the jungle. Unfortunately, they realise too late that Roper has always been one step ahead of them all, and the initial shipment was always a ploy. With the weapon now in enemy hands, Roper kills Teddy for betraying him, but thankfully, Pine is rescued.
What happens in the aftermath? Is there a The Night Manager Season 3?

In a devastating turn of events, Pine’s operation fails, resulting in him making a run for his life. Elsewhere, Angela is shot and killed after he threatens Myra. Meanwhile, Roxana, standing at the airport, has second thoughts about her role in this entire mess and wonders whether she should go back to Miami, clearly having grown close to Jonathan.
Clearly, another season is coming that will bring it all together and answer some pressing questions surrounding Pine and Roper. Stay tuned for what comes next!
