The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Episode 7 Recap
In this episode, a connection between Mimori and Hibana comes to light. The two used to be school friends and shared some memorable moments together. For Hibana, Mimori was a close companion, but from Mimori’s perspective, Hibana was more of a playful tormentor—constantly teasing and playfully roughhousing her. Despite the antics, it was all in good fun.
When Hibana runs into Mimori and Mira, she playfully hints at the nature of their friendship, leaving Mira suspicious in a humorous way. However, the lighthearted mood shifts when Mr. Bird appears, accusing Mimori of being romantically involved with a villain. To make matters worse, he goes as far as to dismiss her from her duties. But the most surprising revelation is the unexpected acknowledgement of Mimori’s feelings, something neither she nor Mira had fully considered. What others saw as mere devotion to the enemy general was actually romantic, and this realization hits them both hard.
Mira immediately becomes flustered, and Mimori turns red with embarrassment. But this is when Hibana steps in and, for once, says something more meaningful than her usual crude remarks. She argues that it’s unjust to expel Mimori over her love, especially when their role is to protect love. Surprisingly, her words get through, and Mr. Bird decides not to oppose Mimori’s relationship.
One of the most surprising moments of this episode is seeing the true, human appearances of the strange creatures that assist the magical girls. They turn out to be stunningly handsome, leaving us wondering why they usually hide in their cat and bird forms.
