The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Episode 2 Recap

This episode is a mix of sweet moments and intense situations. Our villainous Lieutenant Mira is hopelessly in love with the female protagonist, Mimori. Since their initial encounter in battle, he has struggled to turn his love into hatred but has failed miserably.
Learning about Mimori’s dire situation, Mira tries to help her whenever he can. The episode begins with Mira, acting like a stalker, seeking any information about Mimori, though he knows little about her, not even her real name. Desperate to please her, he kidnaps the best pastry chef to get the finest desserts for Mimori.
During this encounter, Mira witnesses Mimori transforming into a magical girl for the first time and eagerly asks her to do it again so he can film it. His composure nearly breaks when Mimori offers to mend his damaged shirt, a gesture that makes him blush as it resembles a newlywed scenario.

The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Episode 3 Review

Today’s episode begins with a meeting between the evil lieutenants apart from Mira. They are suspicious of him and enquire whether he is planning to do anything about the magical girl or not. Some of them, especially Spica, ask whether he is still obsessed with the magical girl that he is supposed to be hunting. Nonetheless, at that moment, he reassures them that everything is under control and he is planning things exactly like they want. He even gets a very urgent call regarding his mission and excuses himself, proving his allegiance. However, what they do not know is that the call was from a restaurant that was just confirming the order they were supposed to take to Mimori.
Hence, it’s proved that he is nowhere near completing his mission and is still very much supporting the magical girl. This time, we see him bringing some beautiful-looking flowers to his beloved, who admits that she has been making artificial flowers to support herself. He quickly understands that the cat is making her work overtime and does not really deserve Mimori at all.

After he comes back to his office, some of his subordinates suddenly present him with some nightclub tickets. According to them, Mira works too hard and just needs some time off, hence, he should go out and have fun. How surprising it was when he went there and found Mimori as the nightclub Hostess. Apparently, this is also one of her side hustles that she does, apart from working as a full-time magical girl and convenience store clerk.
Nevertheless, hell breaks loose when Mimori suddenly starts to cry in front of Mira. The reason behind this is something that is not only going to shock you but also send our hero into blinding rage. The damned cat is trying to sell a perverted video of Mimori. After that what transpired is one of the funniest things ever.

Verdict
The part where Mira confronts the cat is unexpected and hilarious. I hope we will see him later again. Other than that, we might also see some new characters in the next episode.
