The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3 Review- The Characters

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3 Chracters

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated has an absolutely phenomenal cast of characters. From the headstrong yet tender Jahy-Sama to the effortlessly sweet and threatening at the same time Druj, the dynamics of this show work fantastically. The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3 was the first time some of the characters other than Jahy interacted with each other, and it was just as good as you can imagine.

Jahy’s boss is very sweet and giving while being deceptively smart at the same time. She’s not the usual ditzy dumb character one is used to seeing in other animes, and she has a great dynamic with Jahy. Her sister, the landlord, also compliments Jahy well, but more as a competitor than a friend. Druj plays the over-achieving worshipper of Jahy-Sama perfectly. I don’t know how I forgot to say this last time, but Druj is a simp for Jahy. At the centre of it all is the titular character, Jahy-Sama, to the Great Jahy.

Jahy is a wonderfully nuanced character who would require an entire article to herself, which I just might write once this show is over. She is the opposite of smart, along with braggadocious, a perfect combo for a comedy anime. Her intentions are never in doubt, and you love whatever she gets away with doing. She deserves the world but will accept the restoration of the Dark World instead. Just a great cast all around.

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3- The Plot

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3 Plot

The plot of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3 showed me that the show is remarkably more linear than I gave it credit for. I assumed it would just be a collection of different skits that loosely tie together in the end, like Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, but this is different. Every episode and skit is a direct continuation of the last one, and events from Episode 1 are still haunting Jahy. You don’t see this a lot in slice-of-life, and it is very much appreciated.

The plot of this particular episode was nothing spectacular. Jahy acquired a huge Mana Crystal last episode and immediately bragged about it to everyone she knew. This lead to the usual shenanigans and over the top humour that the show does really well. Nothing special, but fun nonetheless.

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3 – Art and Music

I already love the opening and ending themes of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated. The animation has a certain charm that feels effortless and painful to make at the same time. I think this anime might just be the best thing Silver Link studios have ever done. There isn’t much to say here. I liked everything that I saw and heard. Two thumbs up.

Verdict

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 3 just made my day a little better for having watched it. It was funny, sweet, and relatable at the same time. I can’t recommend this show enough if you just want to have a light-hearted anime experience.
