The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 5: Drowning Women

In The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 5, we see Cassie waking up next to Benjamin. But, as much as she regrets the decision, she gets a lead on a file that contains her missing red gloves from Berlin placed at the Echo Park crime scene along with a psych evaluation test filled with answers that she did not give. She clicks pictures of these documents and leaves the CIA building only to run into Dot and lie to her. Cassie calls Shane next for help letting him know that someone is impersonating her. Shane asks her to lie low and, get to Imperial Atlantic training.

At home, she shows Max and Annie the documents. The psyche evaluation makes it look like Cassie could be the killer and, Cassie is sure that the CIA is involved with the whole impersonation thing. She prepares to leave for her flight attendant training when Marco shows up at her door and, under pressure, Cassie confesses to Marco about sleeping with someone else. Marco is clearly mad and angry at Cassie and, leaves her.

As for the CIA, Dot tells Benjamin that the recent incidents look like a CIA job but, she still needs to dig deeper to fully know who. On asking about Cassie’s presence at the CIA building in the morning, Benjamin lies about not seeing her at all. Cassie meets Shane at the Imperial Atlantic training where she tells Shane everything starting from Marco dumping her to the psych eval and, sleeping with Benjamin. Meanwhile, Cassie receives a call from Brenda saying that Megan has left, uninformed.

Max is able to hack into their computer only to find all his computer data collected on their computer in a crypto file. Annie suggests they get their laptop in one quick trip. At the Imperial Atlantic training, Cassie freaks out a lot and, ends up shouting at Carol and leaving the training midway.

At the CIA office, Benjamin asks Cassie’s files to be put away without a record of it ever being taken out by him. On the other hand, Dot asks to pull out all the conversations between Cassie and Benjamin. Cassie is seen at Grace’s next, who welcomes her and, helps her calm down a bit. But, the moment passes as soon as Cassie receives a text from Davey about their trip the following day. An anxious Cassie finally gives in and, has a drink. Meanwhile, Megan and Cherri head to get the lockbox, where Megan manages to poison Wanda’s drink and, is finally able to retrieve her box.

Cassie heads to pick up alcohol for herself when she runs into Jenny, who also has a bottle on her because her boyfriend is still hung over his ex. Cassie guides Jenny to not drink but, herself picks a bottle and heads home. It is chaos after that as she leaves Dot with desperate and angry voice notes along with sabotaging Shane’s secret identity. Cassie heads to the beach next, totally drunk as Max and Annie wait outside Diazes location to get their laptop. It turns out Cassie isn’t a year sober and, rather has gotten drunk twice before, so this time around isn’t new.

Annie and Max break into the Diazes’ house and are able to get the view master as well as the ring, the latter however creates another ruffle between the two. Megan parts ways with Cherri not until she gives her some cash and, we see Megan’s prized possessions in the lockbox. Brenda comes to Cassie’s rescue at the beach where Cassie confesses never being one year sober. They share stories by the beach and, Cassie comes to her senses.

The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 5: Final Thoughts

The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 5 is no progress, plot-wise but, we do spiral down with Cassie, her trauma and problems. In this episode particularly, Cassie looks way out on the edge seeking validation, confrontation and help from every person she knows and kind of ruining them in a way. Hopefully, in the next episode, we will see Cassie understand the damage she has done. Meanwhile, Benjamin and Jenny both seem fishy and, kind of the people who could be involved in the impersonation as well as Dot. But, only time will tell where we are headed.
