The much-awaited 14th episode of The Eminence in Shadow (陰の実力者になりたくて!) is here, and it has again managed to deliver a delightful watch. We got action, comedy and many more from this already cast-heavy series. So without further ado, let us jump right into this review.
The Eminence in Shadow Episode 14 Overview

This series has garnered quite the hype after its release. And the credit surely goes to good animation, a relatable male lead and a bunch of beautiful anime girls who are sure to start waifu wars.
The anime is directed by Nakanishi Kazuya, who is also famous for his work with Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, Trinity Seven, Strike the Blood, etc. Nexus studio is handling the animation, which despite not being very famous in its field, is delivering satisfactory results as of now.
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

The Eminence in Shadow Episode 14 Review and Recap – An Unlikely Trio
The episode started right where it left in episode 13. By the end of that segment, we were still unsure as to how Cid would defeat Olivier, who quickly overpowered him. But as usual, our overpowered protagonist has quite a few tricks up his sleeve.

The moment he gets an opening when fighting Olivier, he mercilessly bites her neck off, making her disappear. But when you think that everything is over, the Archbishop summons more copies of the hero Olivier and makes them attack Cid.
Clearly, he cannot bite the neck off of everyone, but there is something else that only he can do.
The reason why he could not defeat his enemies in the sanctuary as he should be, was because the sanctuary absorbs all magic when you try to use them.
Cid manages to bypass that power by solidifying his magic to the point of being unabsorbable. No normal human being can do that and obviously, our protagonist is not a normal human being. He then uses his ultimate move, I Am Atomic, but this time, it is stronger and better.
He easily destroys the sanctuary and by doing so, frees Aurora, the witch. She laments the fact that she cannot stay beside him and even shows signs of falling for him. How do we know? Well, she literally kisses him before vanishing away. But the non-simper that he is, Cid does not give it any thought at all.

But this is not the only outcome of this whole episode. We see an unlikely bond form between three very unlikely characters. They are Rose Orianna, Princess Alexia and Beta, who can not step away from making a snarky comment against Princess Alexia.
But still, for the sake of their kingdoms, Princess Alexia and Princess Rose and for the sake of the Shadow Garden, Beta decides to join hands and share information by forming a group much like the Shadow Garden.

Verdict
The episode today was honestly nothing very much out of ordinary. We already knew Cid was going to win as the main character of this anime, as he is supposed to be the most overpowered existence.
Other than that, we also cannot deny that Cid saying “I am All-Range Atomic” is definitely funny and makes you laugh for good reasons. Does the show make you cringe at times? Yes, it does. But is it still very entertaining? Yes, it is. Watch this anime on Netflix.
