The Conference Ending Explained: The Conference or Konferensen is a Swedish horror movie that premiered on Netflix on October 13, 2023. Directed and written by Patrik Eklund along with Thomas Moldestad and Mats Strandberg, the plot follows a group of corporate employees going on a team-building conference at a remote getaway. However, things start to suspicious when a mysterious figure arrives. Tim King, Jonathan Ridings and Mats Strandberg are the executive producers of the movie.

Starring Katia Winter in the lead role alongside Adam Lundgren, Eva Melander, Maria Sid, Bahar Pars, Jimmy Lindström, Christoffer Nordenrot, Cecilia Nilsson, Lola Zackow and others. The film has a runtime of 110 minutes approximately. It is originally shot in Swedish and is available with English dub and subtitles.

As the group went on to participate in some team-building exercises, the killer proceeded with his plan. He arrives at the hotel and intends to kill the manager. After an intense cat-and-mouse chase, he brutally kills her. The employees remain unaware of the situation and they enjoy their holiday with each other. Soon after, the trainer who was giving exercises to the employees was also chased and killed by the psychopath.

One after the other, the employees were getting killed mercilessly. After witnessing Ingela’s murder, the group split into two in an attempt to escape from the killer. But the chase remained intact and every resource available, including their car and phones was taken away.

Did they kill the murderer?

Only two employees survived by the end of the movie along with Lina who was on the other side of the lake contacting the police. The two left decided to stop running and face the killer. However, although they were able to fight him off for a few minutes, he rose back up and attacked them again. However, Nadja appeared from the back and sliced the killer’s head into two with a shovel. The murderer died and the police arrived to assist them.

Who was the killer?

At first, the employees thought that the killer might be Frans. He was a former employee at the company who had a workplace disagreement due to which he was terminated from his job. However, it turns out that the killer was not Frans but the son of the farmer who took his own life. The company forcibly took the acquisition of the fiels for the construction of the shopping mall which left many families unemployed and homeless. To take revenge on the company, the man experienced a psychotic break and went on a killing spree.

Lina crossed the lake through the zipline but her friend was killed from the spikes attached at the end of the wire. She carried herself back and went inside the forest looking for help. She finally finds the box where the phones were kept and she immediately calls for help. However, when the police arrived she called out to them but none of the cars noticed her. Jonas comes from behind and attacks her for the flash drive. They fall inside the lake and Lina fights him off, which ends up killing him. She goes back to the hotel and the medic sends her home.
