The 100 Girlfriends Season 2 Episode 3 Recap

This episode kicks off with Hahari in full-on chaotic mode after crafting baby clothes for all the girls and for Rentaro, her beloved. But when they refuse to take Kusuri’s babyfication medicine and transform into infants, she throws a tantrum, determined to play the role of mother no matter what. However, Hakari isn’t having any of it.

Having grown up admiring her mother as a strong, independent woman who balanced work and parenting effortlessly, Hakari is utterly mortified by Hahari’s childish antics. But, as expected in this series, things take a ridiculous turn as everyone except Hakari and Rentaro ends up turning into children. Now, the two are left scrambling to manage a horde of adorable yet completely unruly toddlers.

The latter part of the episode shifts focus to Meido, the ever-dedicated maid who shadows Hahari. It turns out that she has stunning eyes, though almost no one has ever seen them. After years of keeping them shut, they’ve become so tightly closed that she can’t open them, no matter how hard she tries. Naturally, Rentaro and his girlfriends take it upon themselves to find a solution.

Today’s episode begins with the focus placed on maid Maido, who could not get her alone time with her newfound boyfriend, Rentaro, in the previous episode. This time, Hahari instructs her to spend the day with Rentaro so that they can get to know each other more. Right off the bat, both Rentaro and we learn that following orders is the only thing that goes on in Maido’s head. She is loyal to a fault, and her sole purpose is to get directives from her masters and beloved.

This part was mostly emotional as we get a background story on how Hahari found Maido when she was abandoned. From then on, Maido has considered Hahari, the ultimate master and since then has been devoted to her. But, Rentaro decides to teach Maido to value her own life and cherish herself with some pretty suave moves. He really has too much rizz, which explains his current success with all his girlfriends.

The next segment was more sensual, as almost everybody got a bit too wet. All the girlfriends decide to play a game with water guns, which actually has more to do with Hahari’s perverted fantasies than the game itself. But, at least through this game, we got to know who is the deadliest when it comes to stealth and physical prowess. Maido might look like she is a sweet and kind lady, but she surely has the finesse of an assassin.

Today’s episode was another fun ride, packed with the kind of quirky moments that make this anime so enjoyable. One of its biggest strengths is its self-awareness, as the characters constantly break the fourth wall, poking fun at themselves and turning the show into a parody.

I like this episode as it gave us another engaging watch. We also got to see Rentaro kiss Maido for the first time. Now, we might move on to the next girlfriend next week.
