That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 17 Recap

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 18 Review Still No Festival

Here, the Jura Tempest Federation held its final meeting before the Founder’s Festival. Rimuru used the opportunity to introduce Mjöllmile to the group, mentioning that if things go smoothly, Mjöllmile will be appointed as the federation’s financial manager. Mjöllmile then outlined the festival’s schedule, detailing the events planned for each day.

On the first day, foreign dignitaries, merchants, and adventurers from across the globe will arrive. The federation aims to win over the bodyguards of these dignitaries by offering them free meals, enhancing their goodwill. In addition, a lavish banquet featuring Tempest’s finest cuisine will be hosted for the nobility. The festival will officially begin with a speech from Rimuru, the event’s central figure.

As the festival progresses, numerous events are scheduled, with the dungeon opening being the main attraction on the third day. However, there’s a challenge—an overgrown forest at the dungeon’s lowest level needs to be cleared. Rimuru will also need to appoint high-level dungeon masters to manage each level.

Ranga suggests a fox spirit he has been raising as a potential candidate to clear the forest. Rimuru names this creature Kumara and decides to follow Treyni and Shuna’s advice to select the dungeon masters.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 18 Review Still No Festival

Today’s episode might be the final episode before the festival ultimately begins. I really hope it is, because it has been too long since we have been waiting for the festival, which just never comes. It starts with Rimuru meeting all the important neighbouring kings and their messengers who came all the way to enjoy the festival. The first visitor is the king of Blumund Kingdom, with whom Rimuru talks about a very important task that he is planning for the future. The Blumund king and queen readily agree as they have full faith in Rimuru and his competence as a leader.

After a very long time, we also see the newly made king, Yeom, who looks over the Farmenas Kingdom, which used to be called Falmuth. It’s good to see that he’s still the same man that he used to be, and the prestige or power has not gotten to his head. He is also supported by his aide Edgar, who happens to be the son of the previous king. Here, Rimuru gives Yeom quite a big gift, which he does not realise the value of but is appreciative nonetheless.

Then Rimuru goes to meet Yuuki, about whom he still does not suspect anything. It is quite clear from their interaction that Rimuru believes that Yuuki is a good man, and he even personally invites him to the festival. But what he doesn’t know is that most of his problems are created by Yuuki, himself. Not only that, he also invited all the children he used to teach and transferred them to Jura Tempest so that they could have some fun, too.

But the main attraction is definitely his meeting with Masayuki and his very incorrigible party. You can tell they are too proud of themselves for their own good and should be shown their place. Hopefully, they will be taken care of by either Benimaru or Shion later in the tournament.

Verdict

Today’s episode was enjoyable, but at the same time, it’s still far from what we want. Until and unless the festival begins and the tournament starts, real entertainment is yet to come.
