That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1 Overview
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3, aka, Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken 3rd Season or simply Tensura 3, is a Japanese light novel illustrated by Kawakami Taiki and written by Fuse. The series initially gained a following through online serialization from 2013 to 2016 on the user-generated novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō.
Micro Magazine picked up the series in 2014, subsequently releasing its first light novel volume. Fast forward to October 2023, and the series boasts an impressive 21 volumes. Yen Press secured the licensing rights for the North American market, debuting the first volume in December 2017. Additionally, Tensura has made its mark in the manga world, courtesy of Kodansha.
The opening theme, “PEACEKEEPER,” is performed by STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, while the ending theme, “Believer,” is sung by Rin Kurusu. The third season of the show premiered on April 5, 2024, on Nippon TV, its affiliates, and BS11.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1 Review and Recap – Diablo Is A Good Politician
The first episode of season 3 was as good and entertaining as I remembered Tensura to be. There are times when you need a show that will just make you feel good about life and help you forget the harsh reality. Thankfully, Tensura is just that show which makes you hope to transmigrate to a different world yourself and live a fulfilling life like the strongest slime Rimuru.
This season picks up right from the Walpurgis banquet of the Demon Lords, where our beloved new demon Lord Rimuru is enjoying a feast. He is now one of the Eight Star Demon Lords called Octagram, meaning he holds significantly more power than ever. When Rimuru returns to his country, he is greeted with as much enthusiasm and respect by his people as is expected from his ardent followers. But his growth has just begun.
Remember the task that Rimuru gave to Diablo in his absence? Well, Diablo has done a fantastic job of keeping his control over the negotiations with the Farmus Kingdom. The way he handled the entire situation proved how efficient and intelligent Diablo can be when it comes to handling foreign relations with dominance. He is a master politician who swiftly deals with every problem that might potentially cause an issue for Rimuru.
During the peace talks, even Myulan was sweating bullets because Diablo was about to lose his mind over the Farmus Kingdom not acknowledging Rimuru’s power.
This episode was very good and really funny. The lighthearted and amusing banters are back between Rimuru and his friends, and you love to see that transpire. The way Rimuru has grown and achieved a very trusted and loyal group of friends and subordinates is something that makes you wish to be in his place. You do feel happy for him, but you also want to be like him, and this, in turn, makes you root for the strongest slime.
Verdict
I missed Tensura a lot, and I’m very happy that it is finally back with a third season. Not once do you feel bored watching Rimuru or the other characters. Diablo is also quickly becoming one of my favourites as I did not deem him to be so competent at first, but here, he really showcased how capable he can be if he wants to. I just cannot wait for the next episode to come.
