That Christmas Review
This Christmas movie is oddly heartbreaking – showcasing the loneliness of Christmas time against the happiness of the festive season, reminding us that not all is good in every home for everyone. The film showcases how a seaside village comes together to make it a festive and warm moment for everyone as a blizzard rolls around. That Christmas, for some reason, showcases the most unreasonable people and the stupidest situations one can think of.
I am sure this was supposed to be a jokey thing but the humour really doesn’t land most of the time and it’s really silly. I didn’t see the point of most of it because it’s such a repeat of scenarios that we have watched over the years. The storyline is quite predictable and the sheer number of bad decisions that the adults make, including Santa, of all people, is just hair-tear-level annoying.

That being said, I think That Christmas has quite a few cute moments that will make you smile. True, it’s not one that people will remember for years to come and it’s quite forgettable, but there’s a charm here that will make children laugh and the adults take some notice. Most of the film feels nonsensical, but there are moments that shine that will tug at your heartstrings. The kids’ storylines, especially Danny’s, are especially heartwarming and might just be relatable to many viewers.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned previously, this Christmas film is a forgettable watch that is meant to keep your kids busy. Adults will find themselves bored and other than some brief moments of shine and glitter, there isn’t enough here that will keep you occupied. All in all, there’s not much happening in this movie that will stick out, especially because it’s all done to death. I feel like if the creators broke this down into bite-sized episodes and focused on the problems behind the shiny exterior that is Christmas, we could’ve had a more productive watch. But other than that, I think there are better films out that will deliver the joy of the season.
Final Thoughts

That Christmas tugs at your heartstrings in bursts. There are some great stories here that are sweet but overall, the film is extremely predictable and sometimes even thoroughly annoying. All in all, this one’s great for the kids, but no so much for the adults minding them!
