Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 3 Reactions: Fans are Hoping for Ted-Rebecca Endgame; All Cheer for Queer Representation

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 3 reactions are out on Twitter now that the episode premiere has hit the fans of the show in the feels. The Apple TV+ series has been developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly. It stars Sudeikis as Lasso, Hunt as Coach Beard, Hannah Waddhingham as Rebecca Welton, Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Nick Mohammed as Nathan Shelley, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, and Anthony Head as Rupert Mannion alongside others.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 3, titled ‘4-5-1’, dropped on the streaming platform on March 29, 2023. Its official synopsis reads: “Richmond adjust to an exciting change, but Jamie has reservations. Ted learns there’s something new going on back in Kansas as well.”

The new episode directed by Destiny Ekaragha sees Jamie put up his walls against the new entry, the one and only, Zava. While the new teammate’s supposed charm sweeps over everyone around him, Tartt keeps returning to the thought of how he wants to take charge of his play with our reliance on Zava to win matches for them. However, there are other major changes this week.

Rebecca finally took her mother’s advice and visited Trish, the Psychic, who mentioned that a “Shite in Knining Armour” awaits Rebecca and that a green match card would point her in his direction. She also added that the Richmond boss would soon have a family of her own, which leaves her conflicted as it indicates that she’ll soon have a child of her own to look after something that she thought wasn’t possible anymore.

On the other hand, Ted discovers that his and Michelle’s old therapist, Doctor Jacob, is now dating his ex-wife, which, as Sassy puts it rightly, is “borderline unethical”. Moreover, the new episode introduced the first queer character of the show, Richmond’s very own Colin, who’s not yet out to the world, but Trent Crimm has caught on with his secret, even if unintentionally.

Coming back to Rebecca and Ted, fans have been speculating for a long time that the two are meant to end up with each other eventually. Some viewers have even related the latest hint about the green match card to Ted’s green army men figurines. As far as Sam’s role is concerned, they’re thinking of it to be in the same breadth as last season’s misdirection that led many fans to believe that Rebecca was texting Ted on Bantr when it was Sam who ended up in a relationship with her at the time.

The little jokes between Roy and Jamie towards the end of the episode were also quite appreciated. Moreover, the present angsty track playing between Roy and Keeley, with each of them stealing glances at the other, had the show’s admirers pining for them to get back together soon. Here’s how the regular viewers of the series responded to the new episode.
