Later, he makes Shin-joo sneak into Seon Woo-chang’s house and steal his wife’s jewellery when Eun-ho catches the man. Shin-joo is surprised to see her there but soon realises that it is not Yu-ri. He then escapes and hands the box to Yeon when suddenly they are chased by the masked man.
Yeon successfully traps the masked man and the two get into a brawl while he tries to find the man’s identity. However, even with Rang and his subordinates surrounding him, the masked man escapes. Elsewhere, Hong-joo asks Ui-ong whom he would side with between Yeon and Moo-young. This is a tough choice for them both but Hong-joo is curious about the oddity that she finds in them both.

At Myoyeongak, Shin-joo takes out the content of the box that was moved onto his body and the trio finds the Golden Ruler which is capable of bringing back the dead. While Yeon is curious about whom the masked man wants to revive, Moo-young arrives back home to see Taluipa waiting for him.
She asks him about the reason why he arrived in this particular era while not asking about how he was freed. Moo-young tells her that he is here to bring his brother back to life while taking his revenge on Yeon. Taluipa hears him out but doesn’t stop him, she just points out that he isn’t completely cured yet and leaves.
The next day, Hong-joo is released from her imprisonment and finds Moo-young waiting for her outside with tofu. She tells him that she doesn’t recognise the person that he is right now. However, now that she has witnessed the fight between him and Yeon, she has decided to not sit back and just watch.

At Myoyeongak, Rang prepares a horse for Yeo-hee according to her request when Yeon and Shin-joo see him. They begin another round of teasing him before Rang leaves and meets Yeo-hee. Unaware that Yeo-hee put forth this request to further their relationship, he seriously teaches her. But looking at her talent, he offers her to be part of his bandit which surprises her.
When the two leave from there, Yeo-hee’s expectations for some romance are unintentionally fulfilled and she leaves with a smile. Back at Myoyeongak, Yeon and Shin-joo find an infant at the gate and bring her in. While the latter is excited and wants to take care of the little one, Yeon rejects the idea.
Later, Rang joins in and also opposes taking care of the child. When Shin-joo leaves to get some preparations done, Yeon and Rang decide to get rid of the baby. The two are soon met with a surprise when the infant keeps appearing back at the doors of Myoyeongak every time they leave her somewhere else.

Left with no choice, the two begin taking care of the infant. Elsewhere, Hong-joo finds out that Yeon is an opium addict in another place and is surprised. She decides to test the Yeon staying and Myoyeongak to find out the truth.
Later, she smokes opium herself and tests Yeon by asking him questions about their childhood. She finds out that he is not a fake and decides to go look at the Yeon who is an opium addict. On the other hand, Seon Woo-chang is celebrating having found another gold mine when he gets the news of a mysterious man appearing everywhere a gold mine is found.
The group then sees the man coming out of the mind and soon rush to capture him so that they can get more gold mines in their hands. Elsewhere, Rang finds out that the baby is lucky when he is met with multiple wins while gambling on the street. Meanwhile, Moo-young reminisces about the time spent with his brother and is determined to bring him back.
