Till now, the few initial episodes of the series have focussed on Lee Yeon being drastically pulled away from his happy ending with Jo Bo-ah’s Nam Ji-ah in Season 1. On being summoned back to his past and the year 1938, the nine-tailed fox aka ‘gumiho’ is compelled to come face to face with Ryu Hong-joo, one of the few people who became and indispensable part of his childhood. While Lee Yeon’s ultimate aim is return to his original modern timeline to Ji-ah, Hong-joo has no plans of letting him go and is determined to win him over again.

tvN has released some new stills of the upcoming episodes to generate intrigue among the audiences who’ve been glued to their screens for this show. The Episode 3 preview shows Lee Yeon in a helpless stance as Ryu Hong-joo takes control of the situation. She attempts to get closer to him as he’s blindfolded and at his most vulnerable. Other stills also picture him alone while he learns to fend for himself in this state, and Hong-joo watches him from a distance.

While the new season will allow us to take a glimpse of Lee Yeon’s history, the show’s producers have also teased that the relationship shared between Lee Yeon, Ryu Hong-joo and Cheon Moo-young will take a sharp turn as they’ll find themselves pointing their swords at each other soon enough. Thankfully, at least we have Lee Yeon’s chaotic love-hate relationship with his brother, Lee Rang to rely on for some comfort and lighthearted comedy amidst the rising battles, action-packed and vengeful storylines.
