Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episode 1 Reactions: Lee Brothers’ Reunion Becomes a Cause for Rib-Tickling Amusement

Picking up on the Season 2 premiere, old and new viewers of the K-drama alike are tweeting their ecstatic Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episode 1 reactions. Starring Lee Dong-wook as Lee Yeon, Kim Bum as Lee Rang, Kim So-yeon as Ryu Hong-joo, Ryu Kyung-soo as Cheon Moo-young, and others, on May 6, 2023, the Korean fantasy drama series resumed its much-awaited journey with its sequel’s first episode titled ‘Brotherhood’, instantly taking us full circle in terms of the Lee Brothers’ relationship.

While the first season that came out on tvN in 2020 ended on an unfortunate note for one of the leading characters, Lee Yeon found his happy ending with reincarnated lover Nam Ji-ah. This time things have taken a sharp turn as Lee Yeon was summoned back to 1938. In the first episode, he’s reunited with his brother, with whom he shares a push-and-pull or love-hate relationship, yet, this dynamic has been one of the most loved highlights of the series.

Their relationship is one of the prime reasons old viewers of the Korean series have tuned in again to be amused by the eccentric brotherhood they shared, and they weren’t disappointed. Now that the show is dealing with a past timeline, it was about time the present Lee Yeon, centred in modernity, would come face-to-face with his older self. Lee Dong-wook’s fans were delighted to see his character’s past version’s powers as a Gumiho (nine-tailed fox) and even believed him to be more powerful than his modern self.

Some have even claimed that the second season is a lot better than the first if the series’ production value is considered. The same high has even been translated in the viewership of the first episode of the season, which has surpassed the highest views garnered by the previous outing’s all-time high numbers.
