-Succession Season 4 Episode 3 Recap Does Contain Spoilers-
The events of Succession Season 4 Episode 3 unfold in quite a drastic manner. At first, Logan informs Roman about his decision to axe Gerri permanently, along with his visit to Matsson. Moreover, the Roy siblings and the rest of the troupe attend Connor’s wedding (taking place on a Yacht) and are best prepared to relay the message of Logan’s absence to the groom.
At first, it all goes according to the plan as Roman conveys the message to Gerri, followed by a mighty layer of awkwardness between the duo. Later on, Roman decides to take a stand and records a voice message for Logan, stating all his frustration regarding the decision.
Meanwhile, the sudden shock in the episode comes in the shape of the big Logan-centric news, as Tom informs Roman and Kendall about their father’s deteriorating health (midway through their flight). He mentions that Logan’s heart rate is depreciating rapidly and that he is no longer communicating with them.
This instantly sends both Roman and Kendall into a state of shock, as they try to come to terms with the news. Furthermore, Tom takes the phone call near Logan’s ear, as the siblings try to have a last piece of conversation with their dad. Even though it’s not the first thing that they were planning to do at Connor’s Wedding, they both try to improvise to the best of their emotions.

Moreover, when Tom and Frank inform the Roy siblings about the chest compressions, they both assume that Logan will not make it till the end. This brings out Shiv in the picture, who takes the turn of receiving the heartbreaking news about her dad. Finally, after a couple of doubtful minutes, it becomes quite clear that the Media conglomerate giant is dead.
Shiv, Roy and Roman take the lead to fill out Connor about Logan’s passing, who breaks down in his own way. Additionally, Connor dissociates himself from everyone, and reaches out directly to Willa, for an emotional conversation (which concludes with both of them getting married after a mutual round of thoughts).

Everyone in the room decides to apply their best possible improvisation for the scene. Starting with Frank and the company preparing an advance letter to the press, before making the official announcement. Notably, the trio of Roy’s siblings also counter their emotions to some extent and make for a tough decision.
Shiv comes out in front of the press, to relay their personally drafted message about their father’s death, along with Roman and Kendall. She also bonds with Tom for a slight second, as the two share some information about Logan’s last few hours with him. The episode ends with Roman and Kendall contemplating the thought of seeing their father for the last time, as the mere thought of Logan’s absence destroys them internally.
Succession Season 4 Episode 3 Review

The episode has all the qualities to simply label it as “The best possible thing in Television”. It ventures into the shocking and uncharted path and hits us right in our face when we are least prepared for it. Even though Logan’s death was pretty evident in the last season, we can assume in solidarity, that none of us expected this to happen in episode 3.
The entire scene between Roman, Kendall and Shiv (Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong and Sarah Snook) deserves a plethora of Emmy Awards. Perhaps, it can only be described as one of the best acting moments of all time. Each member of the primary cast brought their A-game into the scene and made sure that every second counted.
Throughout the episode, it’s nearly impossible to take your eyes off the screen and think of something else. It’s like the end of a saga, where we just witness the grandeur of the moment, without flinching for a minute. All in all, the latest instalment of Succession has pretty much outdone itself in terms of critical awe and has soared into a new hemisphere of peak television (frankly, I have no clue where the show will venture off, after Logan Roy’s sudden demise).
