Amy Pascal has already confirmed that they are planning 3 more films after the Homecoming trilogy. So all eyes are now on Spider-Man 4. The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the end credit scenes teases various ideas that can be the plot of the fourth Spidey Sony-MCU film. But one thing fans really want to see, it seems, is Jacob Batalon’s Ned becoming Hobgoblin. The article contains spoilers from NWH.
In the Marvel comics, Hobgoblin is one of Spider-Man’s enemies. One of the alter egos of the villain is Ned Leeds, Peter Parker’s friend. There were rumours that he might turn into a villain at the end of No Way Home. Sadly, that didn’t happen. But we saw Ned opening magical portals using Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) Sling Ring. It hinted that he might have some magical abilities.
In NWH, Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker tells Ned that he had a best friend, Harry, who died in his arms. He tells Ned how Harry became a villain and tried to kill him. Ned promises Tom Holland’s Peter that he won’t become a supervillain and kill his friend. With that scene, Marvel teased the entire fandom waiting for Ned to fight Peter. But can anything stop fans? Well, no!
Someone shared a ridiculous plot that can be used in Spider-Man 4 to turn Ned into Hobgoblin. The ideas mention that Peter starts dating MJ again, which upsets Ned. The reason is enough to turn Ned into Hobgoblin. When Peter and MJ go out for dinner, they hear explosions, and that’s how Hobgoblins makes an entry.
MCU fans are irked with his silly and bizarre ideas. Many have shared their reactions on Twitter. A Twitter user shared, “This somehow spits on No Way Home, plays like a bad soap opera, and rips off elements of the Raimi trilogy all in one 🤢 This legit sounds like angsty teen’s bad fanfic. Then again, that’s a lot of ideas in the Spider-Man fandom lately 🙃”.
Another person tweeted, “Spider-Man 4 idea: Letting Venom win and have him eat Peter Pakers face :)”.
