Soojin Black Forest Reactions: Former (G)I-DLE Member aka “5th Gen It Girl” Teases Upcoming Solo Debut; Fans Cry Tears of Joy

On October 25, 2023, the former (G)I-DLE member’s name surged up again (following her abrupt departure from the CUBE Entertainment girl group in 2021) in Soojin Black Forest reactions on X (formerly Twitter) as a cryptic video showed up on BRD Communications’ YouTube channel, teasing the singer’s well-awaited return to the K-pop scene. The monochromatic video released in black-and-white portrays Seo Soojin as leading dancer instead of a singer, and the welcoming twist has become a cause for explosive emotions to be unleashed on the internet.

The nearly 2-minute video shows the ’98 born K-pop idol in a light-shade outfit as opposed to the dancers accompanying her in the background wearing dark attires. In a rather minimalism-themed video, Black Forest captures Soojin at the centre of the scene in an empty room that otherwise only includes the one source of light – a chandelier. In the same way, the spotlight shines solely on the main dancer in question here who also seems to be the only source of energy in a dark world as hinted by the video’s title.

Soojin Black Forest Reactions - BRD Communications

The Black Forest MV is led musically by a classical theme of instrumental piece that guides Soojin’s elegant moves in the dark for this contemporary dance choreography. This teaser comes in as a strong reminder of the artist’s presence and her upcoming comeback almost as if mirroring her re-mergence from the dark.

Black Forest has further heightened her fans’ curiosity as no other details related to her inevitable musical release have been outed by the officials yet. This video merely stand in as a brief preview of what’s to come ahead, and her fans have already welcomed her with open arms as many went on thank her on X for her return. Other comments praised her as the “Main dancer”, “Queen” and “Mother” as Gen-Z slang often refers to women people admire and respect.

One of the X users went deep to profoundly extract the meaning of the video and remark that they could feel pain and bitterness through the instrumental track, and that they just knew that her solo music will be a blessing for the fandom awaiting her to resume activities in the K-pop arena.

Soojin had initially went on a temporary hiatus following allegations of bullying against her. Though CUBE Entertainment terminated their contract with her in 2022, her legal representative later came forward with the statement that she had never engaged in any instance of school violence. Eventually, in 2023, she signed a new contract with a mysterious music label BRD Communications.
