Sleeping Dog Ending Explained
After top police officer Mike Atlas gets beaten by the brother of a prime suspect who dies by suicide, Atlas starts to remember his past and realises that the suspect he arrested was innocent. To prove it, Atlas who is currently homeless decides to collect evidence without getting back to his cop job. Meanwhile, his colleagues Zari and Sokow are in search of him to reunite.

Atlas joins hands with a lawyer called Jule, and they both get close to the truth however a criminal on the loose kills every prime witness before Atlas could reach them. In the end, Atlas finds Sokow, his best friend/colleague at Jule’s house planning to kill her and it is here he finds the truth.
It all started during the Christmas terrorist attack when Zari, Sokow, and Atlas decide to get to the spot and handle the situation. Since Atlas was on drugs that were given by Zari, he loses control and hits a homeless man, instantly killing him. Zari guides Atlas and Sokow to stash the body into their car trunk. Then at the terrorist attack area, Zari throws the lifeless body to make it seem like the old man died at the attack. This way he saves him and his friends.
Then, to hide the dirt of him and his teammates, Zari tries to persuade a judge, Mr. Herres (since he finds that something is wrong with the trio of cops). As Herres wasn’t budging to the demands of Zari, the latter kills him and frames the murder on the Basher family. Since the Muslims are a minority, Zari believed that framing them is the easier method.

Additionally, to make the case win, Zari makes Atlas believe that he found the evidence to prove Mussa is guilty. Due to Atlas always being on drugs, Zari’s words get stuck and he repeats the statements of Zari in the court which convicts Mussa.
As soon as Mussa Basher gets arrested, Atlas loses his mind and leaves his wife and daughter. After months when he finds himself clean from drugs, he remembers that it was Zari who framed Mussa for the murder and killed an innocent person. When Atlas goes to confront Zari, they both find out that Sokow has been killing everyone including Mussa, Detective Paul, Idris, Officer Tom, and others.
Just when he was about to kill Jule, Zari and Atlas find him. Sokow breaks down and hugs them. Apparently, Sokow started killing all of them (witnesses) so that he can save his friends (that is Atlas and Zari) from criminal charges. He wanted to hide the evidence because he cared only about his best friends. Sokow gets arrested and the others proceed with their lives.

Atlas decides to quit his police job and spend time with his family. Jule leaves the agency and shuns at Corinna for trying to tamper with evidence. This causes Corinna to have a panic attack and she decides to release her stress by joining Zari on his boat for a trip around the port. The Basher family receives justice and importantly, Atlas holds a funeral for the homeless man he allegedly killed when he drove.
