She-Hulk Attorney at Law Episode 7 Review: Jen Walters Goes Through an Identity Crisis

She-Hulk Attorney at Law Episode 7 is titled ‘The Retreat’ and has a runtime of about 32 minutes. The episode is directed by Anu Valia and the teleplay is written by Zeb Wells. The synopsis of the episode reads, “Jen visits Blonsky’s wellness retreat, meets new friends and gets in touch with her inner She-Hulk.”

In the previous episode, Jen Walters is invited to be a bridesmaid at her old friend Lulu’s wedding. When she arrives, however, she is disappointed to find that Lulu wants her to present as herself, not She-Hulk, and saddles her with numerous pre-wedding duties.

Even worse, Titania is present as she is dating one of Lulu’s groomsmen. Following a brief fight, Titania breaks down with humiliation and storms off. Meanwhile, Mallory Book and Nikki Ramos work on a divorce case for a superhuman called Mr Immortal, who has repeatedly faked his death to get out of several marriages. Through his case, they get to know about a website called Intelligencia.

Book and Ramos discover several death threats directed at She-Hulk on Intelligencia’s message board while the organization plan another attempt to steal a blood sample from Walters’ following the Wrecking Crew’s failure to do so.

The episode ended with an alarming scene where the Crew is keeping an eye on Jen’s movement and getting ready to attack her. Jen also met Josh at the wedding and they hit it off, after her disastrous dating escapades, but it also raises suspicions about whether he is part of the bad guys, who want to harm her.

She-Hulk Episode 6 starts off like a typical rom-com, where Jen and Josh are constantly texting each other and smiling, going out every night and eventually they sleep together after some dates. Everything was going great in her life until Josh vanishes into thin air, as he stopped replying back to her texts.

Even her nomination as Female lawyer of the year doesn’t excite career-minded Jen, as she is so hung up on getting a reply back from Josh. On the other side, there seems to be some issue with Emil Blonsky aka the Abomination’s inhibitor machine that lead to Jen visiting him at his meditative ranch/centre.

The episode features Blonsky much more than the episodes that were based on his parole case, and some new characters from the Marvel cinematic universe. As the episode description says, it’s all about Jen meeting up with new people with unique powers like her and maybe trying to understand herself better.

And she might even get a bit of a surprise at the ranch. Overall, it feels like Blonsky will be playing more of a mentor to She-Hulk than the Daredevil, as people hoped to be. After much exciting tease though, we haven’t seen anything related to him as the series is almost coming to an end.

Final Thoughts: She-Hulk Attorney at Law Episode 7

The latest episode was like a confidence boost for our lead, after obsessive and heartbreaking ghosting. Jen made some unique new friends and got some healing advice from an unlikely person. The episode featured some really good songs and if you are looking for them, then the song Now I’m In It by HAIM, plays at the start and Peppers and Onions by Tierra Whack plays at the end.

Also, maybe our suspicions about the new guy Josh were true after all. Curious to see what will be happening next and what dangers are coming up for She-Hulk.
