She-Hulk Attorney at Law Episode 3 Review: Wong, Megan Thee Stallion and a Shapeshifter From Asgard

She-Hulk Attorney at Law Episode 3 is titled The People vs. Emil Blonsky and has a runtime of about 32 minutes. The episode is directed by Kat Coiro and the teleplay is written by Francesca Gailes & Jacqueline J. Gailes.

Jennifer Walters is an attorney specializing in superhuman-oriented legal cases and must navigate the complicated life of a single, 30-something who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. In the last episode, remembering how Jen’s cousin, Bruce Banner, said you can’t pick what name the public gives you? Well, Jen is learning that first-hand and cannot believe She-Hulk is what everyone is going with.

Jennifer Walters gained public notoriety after defeating Titania and is dubbed She-Hulk, which she doesn’t like but is stuck with. However, the case is declared a mistrial after the defence successfully argued that her fight with Titania influenced the jury, and she is fired from the district attorney’s office.

Unable to find other work, Walters is offered a position by opposing counsel Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway (GLK&H) and impulsively accepts. On her first day, GLK&H partner Holden Holliway informs her that he wants her to head up the firm’s new superhuman law division and work as She-Hulk full-time.

Her first case is to represent Emil Blonsky/Abomination at his parole hearing. Though initially reluctant due to Blonsky’s past attempt to kill Banner, Walters gets Banner’s approval and she accepts the case. However, she soon learns that Blonsky escaped from prison and participated in an underground fight club.

His escape right before the hearing puts Jen in a difficult position as the public once again turns up against the abomination, claiming that if he is released he will cause even more chaos and destruction. But a fact comes to light which helps Jen in Emil Blonsky’s case. He didn’t escape the prison but was forced to by someone.

That person turned out to be Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme and librarian of Kamar-Taj. Jen’s paralegal and friend Nikki tries to contact him by sending in a thirst trap. Wondering what it might be? Well, Nikki sent her a picture holding some books. Anyway, the message is received and we get to see the cameo of Wong as he agrees to testify for Emil’s case.

On the other side, She-Hulk is being heavily criticised by the public and we get to see some of the very familiar comments like, ‘why do they have to create a female version of every hero?’ or ‘make your own hero’. This is just hilarious and shows a side of reality where these types of comments are always there before any live adaptation of books or comics, where some characters are changed according to present times.

Along with Emil Blonsky, the Superhuman law division also gets another case from Jen’s DA office partner Dennis, who claims to have been duped of $175,000 by a shape-shifting Elf from Asgard. The shapeshifter made him believe that he was in a relationship with Megan Thee Stallion and that means we got a cameo from the Grammy-winning artist as well.

Final Thoughts: She-Hulk Attorney at Law Episode 3

The episode majorly followed Jen and Emil Blonsky’s case and how the public is speculating so many things about She-Hulk, who hasn’t even embraced her transformed self yet, truly. It comments on how male and female heroes are treated by the media and the public. If it was Hulk, they would ask questions about the case and related to that.

But when Jen goes on the news for an interview she is asked about her diet and exercise secret, instead of what she had been invited for. We have seen it happening in press events of such fictional shows as well, where the questions asked to Captain America are about his role and film, whereas they would ask Black Widow if she wore anything underneath the suit.

Also, this week’s mid-credit scene is all about Megan Thee Stallion and if you ever saw the clips of an animated Hulk twerking on songs, now you can see a legit She-Hulk twerking with the singer on her songs.
