Servant Season 2 Recap

Jericho is gone. Dorothy Turner doesn’t know what to do with herself. The only thing that is keeping her from collapsing right now is making sure that she is doing everything in her power to bring him back. Sean Turner doesn’t know whether to be happy or sad. At least he is free of the baby now. Dorothy still doesn’t know what she has done to the original Jericho and things are escalating in a way that more people have to be involved in this ruse.

Dorothy has been following leads on the cult that Leanne Grayson was a part of, The Church of the Lesser Saints. Their leader May Markham was at their place during Jericho’s baptism and it is highly probable that they influenced Leanne to go with them and take the baby with her. Dorothy, using everything she has learnt by doing journalism, prints out missing posters of the leader May Markham and Leanne’s uncle Uncle George. These two figures have played a huge part in making the family uncomfortable with their behaviour.

However, Sean and Julian have made it clear that it would be unwise to look for a missing child that is not theirs, so they try everything in their power to stop her from going around the neighbourhood and possibly involving the police in this scheme. Sean throws away the missing posters for George and May and Julian throws away the posters for Leanne.

Soon, Dorothy gets antsy staying at home and being treated like an invalid so she decides to go to work. At work, she almost ruins her career and makes a very public call for the return of Leanne Grayson. Soon, calls start pouring in suggesting sightings of Leanne. Most of the calls are fake, however, one call comes for a large house, a mansion to be accurate.

A closer look at the place shows that they order a lot of takeout food and house a lot of people. Dorothy devises a plan to make it work and decides to make their house a takeout stop, inserting their menu in the mansion and waiting for a call to come. Sean and Julian are concerned for Dorothy but don’t want to push her too far. Sean bakes the pizza while Julian is around for moral support.

Soon, they do get an order for the pizzas from the mansion and send Tobe to deliver them. He goes reluctantly and is surprised to see Leanne in there. He comes back infuriated that he was kept in the dark but that’s when they get an order for one more pizza from the mansion. Tobe goes again to deliver, this time, however, Leanne passes out and Dorothy blackmails him to bring the nanny back home.

Dorothy has no patience for Leanne, she locks her up in the attic. She reasons that Leanne needs to be reprogrammed from the cult. However, Dorothy loses her cool multiple times and physically injures Leanne to get Jericho’s location. One time she buries Leanne alive and Sean has to remove her from the ground. This earns Leanne some time to walk around the house out of the attic.

She concocts a plan to get the Turners out of the house so she can do her own thing. She tricks them into thinking that if they gave ransom money, Jericho would be back. But the Turners are angrier than ever because Uncle George had made an entrance and he has assured them that Jericho would be back but he needs Leanne before that.

However, George keeps telling the Turners that Leanne cannot be here, because the family at the mansion needs them and the proof is there when the entire family is massacred. This pushes George into overdrive to remove Leanne from the house, he assures the Turners of Jericho in return for Leanne.

When Leanne and Julian get too close, George makes his way to the attic, attempting to kill Leanne. She scares him away and he runs away from the house, getting run over. The Turners think George has gone to get Jericho so they celebrate Christmas like nothing is wrong and wait for the baby to come back. Leanne is consistently telling everyone that he is not coming back.

The night of Christmas, a woman comes in and assures them that if she gets to speak to Leanne, she can help the family. However, the video that the woman, Josephine shows Leanne, explains in great detail how the nanny would be dying. This starts a cat and mouse chase around the house ending in the cellar where Josephine almost kills Leanne but Dorothy saves her.

This convinces Leanne that Dorothy is good and decides to tell her where Jericho is and brings him back. The season ends with the three of them looking at Jericho and playing with the little baby. The questions for next season are, who is Leanne? More importantly, what is she? How is she capable of making such drastic changes within people? And once again, whose baby is it?
