Once again, we have some English language series coming our way, in addition to some international content. While the list may seem short for now, more announcements for new titles are anticipated in the coming weeks.

This List is Subject to Change Depending on the Availability of the Content in Various Countries. More Titles May Be Added As and When They’re Announced.

Titles Releasing on Disney Plus Hotstar in April 2023

APRIL 5

The Crossover

Several original Disney content about sports, especially basketball, has graced the platform. After watching titles like Big Shot, Chang Can Dunk, and Rise and documentaries like 38 at the Garden, we’re happy to swear by this affinity to the sport and dig into a new show marking the beloved game’s comeback into our lives.

Based on the critically-acclaimed best-selling novel by Kwame Alexander, The Crossover revolves around the lives of teen brothers Josh and Jordan Bell, who’ve already earned quite a name in the basketball community. On the flip side, the adult version of Josh narrates the coming-of-age story of both of their lives through lyrical poetry. Capturing moments both on and off the court, it also reels in the threads of their parents’ stories – their father, who’s only beginning to adjust to his life post-basketball, and their mother, who’s finally racing after her lifelong dreams.

Tiny Beautiful Things

Originally slated to stream on Hulu, Tiny Beautiful Things is based on the best-selling series written by Cheryl Strayed. The TV show starring Kathryn Hahn will be available for international viewers on Disney+. Its storyline follows a writer whose marital life isn’t all swell while her teenage daughter keeps pushing her away. Her glorious days as a promising writer seem to be over, so she switches lines and takes over as the advice columnist Dear Sugar. Although it feels ironic to advise others when her life seems to be falling apart, this job allows her to peek back into her old childhood memories and finally guide her back home.

Rennervations

Playing along with Jeremy Renner’s name and the word ‘renovations’, this new series will centre around the actor well-known for his portrayal of Marvel’s Hawkeye, who will now be teaming up with professional builders to reimagine huge government vehicles as “mind-blowing creations” that are meant to make “giant differences” in children’s lives across the world.

Peter Pan and Wendy

Taking us back to Neverland again, the forthcoming fantasy adventure movie event is directed by David Lowery as it seeks inspiration from his screenplay, co-written with Toby Halbrooks. Serving as the live-action adaptation of the old animated film Peter Pan, the new-age rendition will introduce us to Wendy Darling, a young girl whose prime inhibition surrounds her, never wanting to leave her childhood home. Enter Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up, and everything changes for both of them.

Embarking on an adventurous ride to the mystical Neverland, Wendy faces the villainous pirate, Captain Hook, and gets acquainted with loads of new life-changing experiences.
