Normally, it takes a lot of time for novels to get adapted into an anime, so fans of this particular series must be happy with the outcome.

Reincarnated as a Sword Episode 4 Review – The Battle Begins

We have seen a number of Isekai animes come out this season, and this one, in particular, sets itself apart with a fresh concept.

Normally, when the main character dies to get reincarnated in a different world, they are born as another human but rarely do we see them being reincarnated as something else. Here, as well, we see the male lead being reborn as a sword in a different world.

In this episode, we explore the world of Reincarnated as a Sword a lot more and discover the secrets of the world. Questions like how the world is built or how the monsters of this world came into being were finally answered here. We also meet new allies who treat Fran with kindness that she did not witness before.

Teacher and Fran share a special bond, and we witness Teacher slowly becoming warmer towards her in this episode. He is more protective of her, and his urge to be together with her has grown in the current episode.

The episode also showcased the determination of Fran, who wishes to be stronger at any cost. After experiencing her horrifying past, she is not willing to bow down anymore and wants to evolve as soon as possible.

This might be a small spoiler, but we also see Teacher getting a new sheath, in which he looks pretty cool. But it was not all fun and games in this episode, as we see a big battle coming up. But do not fear as she has her guild and Teacher by her side.

The anime is quite lighthearted and simple, to the point of being predictable, but it doesn’t fail to entertain us. The animation is also quite nice, and it has its battle moments.

All in all, it is not something that will blow your mind with its complex storyline and character growth, but it will be a good watch if you enjoy the Isekai genre. Plus, the fact that this anime has a female protagonist, which we normally do not see as often, deserves special credit.

Verdict

The pace of Reincarnated as a Sword is quite nice, and the characters are also likeable. The comedy is satisfactory, and the main leads are adorable to watch. This present episode ended at a very intense point which is why I will definitely expect to see a fitting continuation of the story in episode 5. You can watch the series on HIDIVE.
