Ranveer Vs Wild with Bear Grylls is now available on Netflix. The 1-hour 10 minutes interactive special is written by Shantanu Srivastava and directed by James Turner. The special stars Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and Bear Grylls.
The synopsis reads, “Roses won’t cut it for this hopelessly romantic Bollywood star. The flower he’s after is one of a kind — and he’s testing his survival skills to find it.”

In Netflix’s Ranveer Vs Wild with Bear Grylls, Ranveer Singh and British adventurer Bear Grylls are in a Serbian jungle for a wild adventure. Ranveer wants to get a rare flower, Ramonda serbica, for his wife, the love of his life – Deepika Padukone. However, the task is not simple, and the viewers have to make the choices for him.
In the interactive special, Ranveer repeatedly reminds us how much the flower means to him and why he MUST get it for his lady love. He’s scared but also excited and determined to face every hurdle that comes his way. Grylls accompanies Singh so to make his adventure less stressful.
We have to decide how Ranveer should go from one place to another or what he should eat. The number of options given to make choices for Singh is not much. There are more dramatic monologues and conversations between Ranveer and Bear. Singh tried to add humour to the special. Sadly, the jokes weren’t always funny. At times, the way he explains his sentiments about the experience felt slightly exaggerated. I’ve never seen someone talk SO much in a wild adventure like this!

Ranveer Vs Wild with Bear Grylls is nothing like the interactive and wild adventures we have seen by Grylls. But since it’s one of Bollywood’s most hyperactive actors, there’s over-enthusiasm in almost every scene. At times, Singh’s reaction didn’t even seem genuine. He felt tired after walking or mountain climbing. Maybe he would’ve felt better if he had talked a little less? Was he acting? Well, that’s what I make out of the interactive special.

Overall, the interactive special is just a Ranveer-centric episode. We know his love for Deepika and how he would do anything for her. This time, he decides to go over the top of the hill to find a rare flower. With the choices I made, Singh succeeds in getting the flower. But did I enjoy watching the special for 1 hour? Not really.

The show was entirely fake and scripted accept climbing scenes. The bear (animal) looked a pet one they used for the script or else how a cameraman managed to shoot in front of wild bear and with different angles. This show wasn’t at the bear grylls format also not like shows with previous celebrities. It was more like bollywood masala, what can be expected from bollywood creative crew involved for this show.
