Poker Face Season 2 Episode 4 Recap
The episode starts with an elderly woman holding a gun to a man stuck in his door, clearly intending to rob her. He’s saved by a good cap, Fran Lamont, who sees the good in him and asks him not to repeat his mistakes. She is nominated for the FlopaCopa awards for best police and eventually loses to Gator Joe, who gets recognised for busting a gang and adopting a baby alligator. However, although in the first year Fran is okay with this loss, she is left distressed when it happens six years in a row… a little crazy even!
This year, however, Fran is convinced that she’s going to win and looks the part as well. Unfortunately, when she spots the awards being taken, she follows them and sees that, once again, Gator Joe is going to win her coveted spot. Heartbroken and seeking vengeance, Fran cries in Gator Joe’s green room and finds his pet there as well as the gator laxative and decides to mix it into his 2-Hour Power Juice.

Unfortunately for Fran, just as Joseph runs to the bathroom thanks to the effects of the laxative, Fran, listening in to his misery from the outside, hears him fall on the floor. She rushes inside to see him lying on the floor dead and then realises that Rusty had told her to take .06ml and not 7.60ml. Now panicking and heartbroken over her mistake, she wipes every trace of herself from Joe’s body and rushes over to his green room to think of a plan. That’s when her eyes fall on Daisy, and she brings it out of its cage with Oreos into the bathroom to stage the crime scene as if the alligator killed him.
When she refuses to comply, she puts meth in the alligator’s nose and leaves it to do the rest.

We then jump to Charlie, who is making plans to start her new life. She ends up at an alligator habitat and makes friends with Hutch Sobek, who teaches her that gators will remain calm if you are calm around them. He introduces her to Joe and Daisy, giving her the assignment that they need to free Daisy from Joe. And they plan to do it at the FlopaCopas.
Charlie and her team plan to take Daisy out during lunch, and she realises that the cage doesn’t have wheels, but before she can make a plan, Fran runs into the room crying. Charlie consoles her and then makes a slick exit. She later comes back to break the lock and take her out, but when Daisy refuses to move, Hutch asks her to get Oreos to lure her out. Unfortunately, by the time she does so, Fran has already broken out, and Daisy has eaten Joe.

Now, the cops decide to take matters into their own hands and kill Daisy while Charlie finds the Oreos on the ground and realises that something else is going on. As Hutch and his team try to convince her to abort the mission, Charlie decides to get to the bottom of this odd mystery. Meanwhile, Fran learns that Joe had uploaded her cry session on TikTok and realises that he had a recording device on his glasses, which also means that her crime might have been recorded. Elsewhere, Charlie realises that whoever did this must have used meth to make Daisy violent.
With Daisy now on the loose, the cops band together to find her. As the others flail around, Charlie finds her at the storage closet sleeping after eating a ton of Oreos. Fran and Charlie get Daisy out, and while talking to each other on the way, Charlie starts to suspect Fran. Her suspicions are proven true when she walks in on Fran trying to kill Daisy, and when probed a bit further, Fran divulges everything to her.

Charlie tries to convince Fran to go back and set the record straight, but Fran refuses to give up her years of good work for someone like Joe. As she tries to shoot Charlie, Daisy stops Fran, and they are almost about to kill each other when Charlie stops them both from causing unnecessary harm. Daisy eventually goes back to the swamp after pooping out Joe’s glasses. Fran confesses everything to his Chief, who refuses to do anything with the evidence for fear of being ridiculed. As a result, Fran resigns and takes up a job at the gator habitat. Of course, the competition just doesn’t leave her behind.
Meanwhile, Charlie finds a new lease of life and the strength to keep on going on another wild adventure.
Poker Face Season 2 Episode 4 Review

Listen, I am not saying Poker Face might be my favourite comedy series this season, but with the way things are going, I can’t deny the fact either. The comedy, the cinematography, the editing, the insane storyline – it’s all a win. And for some reason, the series’s insanity somehow works in its favour thanks to protagonist Natasha Lyonne’s whimsical Charlie, who somehow ends up at the right place at the right time and takes us on an adventure. It’s pure entertainment for anyone who needs a laugh through crime, and episode 4 is no different.
