Parampara is a Telugu-language crime drama series that was released on Disney+ Hotstar on 24 December 2021. It is directed by Krishna Vijay L., Viswanath Arigela and Hari Yelleti, who wrote the screenplay as well. There are 7 episodes in total with a runtime of about 50-55 minutes respectively.
The cast includes Jagapathi Babu as Mohan Rao, Sritej, R. Sarath Kumar as Nagendra Naidu, Prawin Yendamuri, Naveen Chandra as Gopi, Ishan as Suresh, Aakanksha Singh as Rachana, Naina Ganguly, Aamani, Kasthuri, Murali Mohan, Thotapalli Madhu, Surya, Jogi Brothers, Arjun Ambati, Kedar Shankar, Kamalakar, Teja, Praveena, Divi, Shreya Navile and Rama Devi.

For years, Naidu has kept everyone under his ruthless rule, until his nephew Gopi decides to challenge him and bring down his empire of injustice.

Parampara Season 1 Recap
The name of the series simply means tradition and every episode of the series has a specific title that summarises what is going to happen in that episode. Episode 2 is named ‘Moolam’ which could mean becoming rootless or bearing the consequences of your actions, likewise, the next episodes are Virodham (to protest), Vyuham (strategy), Chaturam (wise), Gatham (Past) and Valayam(circle).

It has a thrilling start, in which Gopi Rao and Nagendra Naidu are going in a car which is shot at and attacked by goons. They get into a gunfight in which Naidu is trapped by a goon and another is pointing a gun at him. On the other side, Gopi has a clear target where he can shoot the goon but instead points it at Naidu and we get to know the real motivation of Gopi.
We learn that the seeds of Gopi’s anger are sown when his uncle, Nagendra Naidu, snatches his grandfather’s legacy by deceit, leaving his father, Mohan Rao, picking up scraps. After Veera Naidu’s death, Mohan Rao was picked by the public as their next leader but instead, Naidu took control of the power and made Mohan his sub-ordinate.
Gopi witnessed everything that happened and since then decided to take back everything that his father deserved, starting by standing at the college presidential elections against Suresh, Naidu’s son. However, with power, Suresh and Naidu try to bring Gopi down and eventually get him falsely arrested by trapping him in a drug possession case.
Ultimately, Gopi is disqualified from the elections and decides to catch the person who planted drugs in his party. We also get to know that Naidu and Mohan aren’t real brothers. Mohan actually saved drowning Naidu and looking at his bravery Veera Naidu decided to adopt the recently orphaned Mohan as his eldest son.
Naidu feels neglected and thus he tried to take everything under his control after their father died. Unable to catch the drug planter, Gopi shifts his target to Rachna, Suresh’s fiance, and decides to make her fall in love with him. He also joins hands with Naidu’s enemies to bust his business and take it over.
But Mohan is nearly killed by the goons who tried to kill Naidu before. On investigation, it turns out that they were hired by Naidu’s enemies with whom Gopi has been making a deal. He then traces down the goon and the enemies are killed by Naidu and Mohan. This then takes us back to the past, which shows the relationship between Mohan, Naidu and Indira (who was backed by Naidu to lead).

At last, Gopi and Rachna’s relationship is revealed to everyone and thus, he is held captive by Naidu who portrays Gopi as a betrayer and urges Rachna to marry Suresh asap. We also learn that it was Suresh and Jenny behind the expose, as they wanted to get back to their lovers.
However, somehow Gopi reaches the wedding venue of Rachna and Suresh and tries to kill Naidu. But his own father asks to kill him first and subsequently, Gopi gets arrested by the police. While Gopi is sitting inside the Police van he says that it’s just the start. It could mean that the whole thing was his plan or he is going to come back with a bigger attack.
Parampara Season 2 Preview
The second season of the series is set to be released on 21 July 2022. The synopsis reads – The power conflict escalates when Gopi returns with bigger and smarter moves to trump over his uncle, Naidu. Check out the trailer below.
