PI Meena Ending Explained
Who is the guy who got into the accident in front of Meena?

Out on the street one day, Meenakshi comes across a dangerous collision wherein a truck rams into a scooter driven by a young man. She asks for help, but the man sadly passes away. Although she previously thought that it was a simple accident at first, the man’s mother implores Meenakishi to look into the case more thoroughly later on, igniting a flame of knowing the truth. Soon, upon going through his phone and the subtle clues left behind in his room, Meenakshi realises that Partho’s background as a virologist had something to do with his death.
After further inspection and running with the fact that Partho had uncovered something very dangerous about a virus in Littnong, she travels there to meet with Dr. Andrew Rakhaw of the local hospital. Rakhaw, however, is in peril of his own but gives her a slide of the virus that he had secretly hidden away. She brings the slide to a known virologist in Kolkata for examination, but unfortunately, he, too, turns out to be a part of the RAW. With his own motivations, Dr Nair decides to sell out all of the information and evidence that Meena has brought to Tridib in order to make a sweet deal.

In the end, Meenakshi realises that Partho isn’t just an innocent man caught in the middle of a bigger conspiracy. He was the one who created the conspiracy and was the one who got his hands on the Giant Atlantic Virus in the first place and sold it to a terror group for money. He felt guilty after he realised the carnage that it could create and came to Kolkata to stop it. Unfortunately, the liaison for the group, Dr Basu, his college professor, isn’t thrilled by his duplicity and stages for the accident in order to get rid of him.
Why does Meena desperately search for answers? Why does her past haunt her?
Meenakshi is a hard-headed individual with little to no sense of consequences. She initially jumps into Partho’s case after his mother begs her to look deeper. When she realises that Partho is the one who started the mess, she is heartbroken and almost leaves the entire thing behind her when she realises that the virus outbreak has started in Kolkata and that she must do something to stop it. Although she had previously started the search for answers previously due to emotional reasons, she eventually chooses to do the right thing in order to stop a genocide from happening.

Her past haunts her because a few years prior to the incidents of the show, Meenakshi and her family got into a terrible road accident whilst she was behind the wheel. It left her and her brother an orphan and him in a coma. She blames herself for the state of their family and, throughout the runtime of the show, talks to her brother and assures him that she will do everything it takes to keep him and everyone else safe.
What is the virus outbreak about?

The Great Atlantic Virus was first found by Partho and his team in a research facility in Berlin, from where he sold it to a terror group called Tirakh, of which Dr Basu is a part. The latter spreads the virus, first in Littnong and then in Kolkata. A virus like this can change the whole game of the world in minutes, but since the virus is only found in glaciers, which would take years to melt, they made the virus active in the lab itself.
Tridib is probably not a part of the terror thing and is only trying to stop it, but Meenakshi can’t trust him and thus, in the end, decides to get hold of Dr Basu on her own.
What happens after she figures out the truth in the last episode?

In PI Meena episode 8, after Meenakshi figures everything out, she goes to meet Dr Basu on her own. In his house, when he realises that Meenakshi knows his truth, he attacks her and tries to inject a dangerous drug into her to get rid of her. However, the two fight, and she eventually overpowers him, ending in him bleeding on the floor.
She runs away from the scene, realising that, with Tridib and Rakhaw also dead, there is no one to really corroborate her story. The last scene showcases her running away and talking to Joy about her recklessness and how she could’ve done things differently and not be in this mess.
PI Meena is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
