Meet Physical 100 Winner Woo Jin-yong

When the five finalists moved to the last quest, Woo Jin-yong initially struggled in the first two rounds. However, he became extremely competitive from the third one and battled Jung Hae-min in the last rope pulling mission. After almost giving up, he persistently worked and surprised everyone with his grand win.

After serving in Korean Marine, he stayed in Canada in 2007 for language training. It is there where he fell in love with snowboarding sports. While he initially snowboarded as a hobby, he changed it into his career. He became a snowboard instructor and also participated in many games and events as a national snowboarder.

Since, South Korea didn’t prioritize snowboarding for Olympic until 2010, Jin-yong witnessed restriction from Korea Ski Association(KSA) when he requested to represent South Korea.

During the Physical 100 show, where the five finalists eat at the table, Jin-yong opens up about how he desired to go to the Olympics but they were denied. He added, “There are no openings at all now. They’re training hard, the younger athletes, and I hope they get to be under the spotlight and people would look them up.” He also revealed that he is the first national team athlete still aspiring to represent South Korea at the international sports event.

When Woo Jin-yong won the final match, he first expressed his gratitude to God in his speech. He said, “I wanna say glory and thanks to God. I also want to thank my parents for supporting me for over 30 years. And to those who let me compete with them until this point, to the other 99 contestants, thank you.”

Jin-yong is currently passionate about CrossFit and snowboarding. He is also the representative of JD CrossFit and CrossFit NAMSAN. He is active on his Instagram, and fans are pouring their love for him. He initially had around 2000 followers, and now it’s drastically increasing. The athlete has over 9,000 followers, and it’s still counting.

If you want to support him, you can check his Instagram, where he posts his workout videos and snowboarding snaps. You will also find a lot of selfies with Choo Sung-hoon, his fellow competitor with whom he teamed up in the ship quest. Jin-yong did an excellent job in the ship quest, and their team became the ultimate winners by completing the quest quickly.
