– No Spoilers –

In the second season of the hit Netflix reality series, we get some of the well-known faces of Netflix alumnus who come to this show to date each other and find their most compatible matches. Now, let’s be real – no one is going to find their perfect person from this show. We know that right? We saw what happened to Dom and Georgina last season, it’s not going to be much different this time around either. So, clearly, we are only here for the gossip and entertainment. And, with 6 episodes out, we get a lot of that and Perfect Match isn’t holding itself back with the sexual talk, the backstab and the catfights.

Personalities known and unknown from all over the Netflix reality TV universe bring the heat this season and how! With Harry Jowsey leaving all the women both intrigued and careful and Dom’s surprising presence filling the air with instant interest, everyone is here to show the others what they are made of. Unfortunately, most don’t leave a lot of impressions, with the worst of everyone coming out in every few scenes. There are moments in the show that will leave your mouth agape and there are very messy situations that will make you cringe. However, it’s just the conversations that are interesting, especially during the time when choices are to be made.

Whenever the compatibility challenges come up, however, is when things get really boring and they drag quite a bit. People are so pumped to do these challenges and go on dates and whatnot but at the end of the day, it feels ingenuine and unnecessary because they are already in Tulum, living in an expansive mansion. That, in itself, is a date. But I digress.

The contestants this season, however, will really leave an impact on you. Harry and Jessica’s pairing has been the talk of the town for some time now and for good reason. The men clashing with each other and being sneaky, the women being pick-me and going behind each other and both sexes getting into some raunchy stuff is what you get to see this season and honestly, it’s quite entertaining. If you are a reality TV fan in general, you will enjoy this season because of the sheer number of known faces. However, expectations are to be left to a minimum!

Just like last season, however, none of these people are interesting enough to make you remember them. They are not genuine enough to make you root for them in any capacity because most make these matches stay in the game longer, not because they genuinely like each other. Another glaring problem is that people jump ship very quickly after spending a day or two with one person. And I get that, it’s a rushed environment. But even then it doesn’t make the viewers feel anything positive when people say that they want to find their life partner but jump from one good-looking person to another.

Also – poor Izzy man. Gotta feel bad for the dude, he was so out of place and awkward!

I mean, it’s cringy and awful sometimes to watch because of some of the double standards and misogyny but that’s a normal fair for Netflix reality shows. There’s a ton of debauchery and insanity all around that is neither memorable nor very good but it is definitely hella entertaining, especially for those who love watching these reality show stars. The known faces make you more invested in the characters but, of course, it’s neither authentic nor genuine because last time around, Georgina cheated on Dom with Harry – the sheer insanity of it all. Either way, it’s my guilty pleasure and I am sure it’s the same for many at this point!
