Pandora Beneath The Paradise Ending Explained
The finale brought us a thrilling experience as the calm ends with Jae-hyun waking up from his slumber which made him experience tremendous pain with every death. After the machine connected to Jae-hyun short-circuits due to the exchange between Yeon-hwee and Kyo-jin, the former is awakened and brought back to reality.

He soon understands what happened to him and picks up a chair to attack Kyo-jin who is saved by his mother and leads to her death. But Jae-hyun doesn’t attack Kyo-jin after this as he soon escapes while the latter wails in grief for his mother. He then contacts Do-jin sometime later to inform him about Jae-hyun’s escape.

Do-jin, who left the townhouse after a painful goodbye to Hae-soo, is stunned and remembers that Hae-soo is at Tae-ra’s house and rushes back. However, he is too late as Jae-hyun has already kidnapped Hae-soo and has left a note demanding Tae-ra in exchange.

Do-jin rushes to Kyo-jin to let him know about what happened and soon rushes to bring Tae-ra to Hae-soo. Upon finding out about this, Tae-ra too does not hesitate and lets Jiu go to Switzerland first. She then rushes to Jae-hyun alone and reaches the cliff where she was saved by her husband and given a new life.
There she finds a figure tied to the chair and with the head covered while explosives were tied around her. Assuming that it is Hae-soo, she asks Jae-hyun to let her go as she has come to him. However, Jae-hyun is not in his right mind after the neverending experiences he went through in the lab and asks about Jiu while ignoring her pleas.

He fears that Jiu knows about his truth and continues to ask Tae-ra if she told their daughter everything. However, his unstable behaviour doesn’t end there as he gets on his knees and begs for her to not leave or forget him. Tae-ra notices the changes but rushes to save Hae-soo, only to find out that it is a mannequin that was kept there.
Jae-hyun then snatches the gun from her hand and points it against her head to keep Hae-soo and Do-jin away who have just arrived. As the two beg to him to let go of Tae-ra, he points out how much he has fallen in their eyes while Tae-ra accepts dying together with him if that is what he wishes for.
Jae-hyun then steps back and Tae-ra soon notices that there is something really wrong with him, but when she turns back she sees him pointing the gun at himself and a shot is fired at his head. Jae-hyun then falls down the cliff and the three are left in shock, in particular Tae-ra as the man who just died was her husband.

The incident ends here as we are then taken a few years in the future in Switzerland where Tae-ra and Jiu are being visited by Kyo-jin. While the two discuss the arrival of Hae-soo and Do-jin later that day, Kyo-jin is seen pampering Jiu to the fullest after which he is led to his room.
Tae-ra leaves him to freshen up but soon after she leaves, Kyo-jin’s expression changes and there is something odd about him. Tae-ra steps out but soon realises that she forgot to hand him a towel and returns with one, however, what she comes face to face with is a nightmare that she almost forgot.
Standing in front of the mirror is a shirtless Kyo-jin with his back covered in scars from a lightning strike which is similar to the one that Jae-hyun got after killing Yu-ra. As Kyo-jin’s face fades into that of Jae-hyun’s, a new journey is what seems to have begun for Tae-ra.

But was she really unaware of Jae-hyun’s return, or was this a plan made by the couple from long back? These answers can only be answered with the return of the show, so let’s hope the Kdrama makes a return.
