Ozark Season 4 Part 2: It all comes to an end?
The journey in the world of Ozark has been nothing less than a run for life at every waking instant. The series has thrilled the audiences, made them giddy and emotional and, absolutely scared about how the evils of life ultimately always catch up with you. And, with Ozark Season 4 Part 2, it all comes to an end. But, is it enough?
Following the events of Ozark Season 4 Part 1, we know Ruth is on a hunt to take down Javi after he killed the only family she had- Wyatt and, his romantic interest, Darlene Snell. Well, the final part was even liberal enough to show that Ruth actually gets to him and, shoots him down. What is the after of this one rather important and influential character dying? Well, that is what part two is all about. As Marty continues on an autopilot mode, unable to even understand where he stands and what he does, Wendy continues to be the brains and, makes sure the political standings that they started building in part one stick through the end.
Omar Navarro is no help now nor is Maya, with characters like Camila Elizondro (Omar Navarro’s sister and Javi’s mother[) thrown into the mix. As the Byrde family struggles to survive, unharmed and, an enraged Ruth goes all rave, it is only a matter of time before the evil from their past and present catches up with them to pull them down. Because by the end of the day wasn’t survival the foremost plan to move into the Ozarks?
Ozark Season 4 Part 2 sure has one of the best performances on television for the year 2022. The series has time and again been appreciated for its outstanding cast delivering brilliant performances. However, the season finale added that cherry on the top, acting-wise, that just truly makes Ozark an acting masterclass to live and breathe. Julia Garner is a gem and, her Ruth will truly remain one unforgettable character. Jason Bateman’s Marty has gone from wanting to protect his family to taking a leap with greed to detachment to help his family survive the worst, it is a whole arc, done rather beautifully.
Laura Linney’s Wendy is the person who has been taking us forward in the past few seasons and, she continues to do so in the final episodes too. Surprisingly enough Skylar Gaertner’s Jonah, who was a terribly annoying character in the part of Ozark Season 4 even made himself stand out as a character you put your faith in to stick by his family. This is in fact incredible, how well the characters and, their arcs are fleshed out to come to a truly satisfying conclusion.
The writing and cinematography like always are a chef’s kiss. Especially, given how the makers decided to put add a semicolon at the end of the story rather than a full stop just shows the effect the show has on its audience that even a potential open ending is received with speculations rather than judgements.
Ozark Season 4 Part 2: Final Verdict
