Our Blues Episode 9 starts with In-gwon and Ho-sik apologizing to each other. Their kids mend their fathers’ relationship and they accept each other as in-laws. Hyun and Yeong-ju move back to their own homes and are allowed to raise their baby. Yeong-ju still goes to school and Hyun has become a full-time worker in a restaurant. Instead of living miserably, their fathers made a decision that made all of them happy.

Dong-seok finds out from the motel owner that Seon-a hasn’t come back for three days and Dong-seok leaves to find her in the heavy rain. After much effort, he finds her but he has some questions to ask. He asks her why she slept with his friend when they were younger and why did she call the police on him and then left Jeju island without telling him.

Dong-seok and Seon-a met for the first time in a gaming arcade when Seon-a was fourteen and Dong-seok was eighteen. They fell in love with each other but never confessed. Both of them had a sorrowful family life. Dong-seok’s mom was living as a mistress and Dong-seok’s step-brothers beat him every day. Seon-a’s mom had left them and her father had stopped working. He would drink every day and fight with his own brother. Both Seon-a and Dong-seok had only each other to rely on, but Seon-a broke his trust.

On the other side, Jeong-jun tests Yeong-ok to find out what kind of person she is. He agrees to go on a trip with her after testing the waters. The older Haenyos don’t like her and want her to leave the group but Jeong-jun puts on a word for her and requests a senior Haenyo grandma to look out for Yeong-ok because he likes her.

Our Blues Episode 9 Ending

Seon-a reveals to Dong-seok that she asked his friend to have sex with her because Dong-seok wouldn’t because he loved her and she knew it. She thought getting into trouble will cause her father to pay more attention to her. However, his friend had run away because he thought Dong-seok would beat her if he finds out, but Dong-seok had seen him with Seon-a and he beats him anyway. Seon-a had fake-called police to stop Dong-seok from fighting.

On that same day, Seon-a’s father committed suicide in front of her and her mom took her to Seoul. Seon-a has been depressed ever since and her ex-husband knew so. She hates him for taking her child’s custody and cusses at him after Dong-seok teaches her how to. She has decided to live in Jeju and bring her son back to her as well. Dong-seok asks her to consider the negative point as well but this time, Seon-a is confident that she will get her son back.

Our Blues Episode 9 Review

This episode of Our Blues was unexpected. Dong-seok and Seon-a were each other’s first love and Dong-seok loved her more than she did him. The tough guy has a warm heart only for his first love whom he never got over. Kim Woo-bin wins us over with his expressions only when he looks at Han Ji-min. The long fight between Ho-sik and In-gwon ended. Overall, this episode was a reunion of all those who once parted.

Our Blues Episode 9 is available to watch on Netflix.
