This was a terrible interview. I felt so bad for Viola Davis. Oprah Winfrey kept awkwardly revisiting the poverty that Viola Davis experienced growing up, even making a joke of it by comparing who was more impoverished as a child. You could actually see Viola Davis’ strained smile at times, almost hiding what seemed like confusion. Oprah also seemed to struggle during the interview….she actually either looked bored or distracted at times and even a little disingenuous, particularly when Viola Davis was a little long winded. Maybe it’s time to pass the interviewing mic to someone else, no disrespect.
