Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 3 Review

Theatre actor Ben Glenroy’s death in the series premiere marks the primary mystery of this season and it has been going really well. The third episode of Only Murders in the Building Season 3 has landed us emotional and excited with a script that has progressed excellently.

In Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 3, we see the trio being less of a trio and working rather independently towards their individual goals. Oliver seems way less interested in the mystery behind Ben’s death and is more focused on getting his Broadway play turned into a musical. Throughout the episode, he tries really hard, fails, and at times annoys us but, puts his best foot forward to make sure the curse is lifted and the play gets greenlit. Loretta, of course, plays an important role in regard to this segment.

With Oliver on a different team, it is Charles and Mabel who are bent on decoding the reason and person behind Ben Glenroy’s death. At this point in the season, Mabel is able to shorten the list of suspects and bring it down to just the immediate cast and crew. If this is a wise decision or not, is something we can only know later on. For now, this arrangement seems to be very beneficial, more so because the pair are focusing on the first clue- the missing handkerchief.

Mabel and Charles try to find out whose handkerchief from the cast and crew is missing as it would give them their first suspect. Unfortunately, Mabel’s ways don’t sit well with Oliver who makes her leave the set, making her unable to pursue this side of the investigation. Charles, of course, continues.

Mabel decides to get her hands dirty in another manner. Our female detective here takes up the opportunity to look around Ben’s flat. During her snooping around she comes across more people, making the suspect list stronger and longer.

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 3: Final Thoughts

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 is doing really well so far. The narrative is taking a sharp turn separating the characters and making them work as individuals more than as a group, something new and important for the show. The mystery element is just kicking in, so we cannot say a lot about it yet. Nonetheless, the new plot improvements such as the prime suspect, the video featuring Ben before his death and more are making the journey as thrilling as ever.
