Series Overview

Once Upon a Small Time (어쩌다가 전원일기) is a Korean romantic-comedy-drama series directed by Kwon Seok-jang and stars Choo Yeong-woo, Park Soo-young, Baek Sung-chul and Jung Suk-yong, alongside other cast members.

We saw Choo Yeong-woo the last time in 2021’s School 2021 where he played Jung Young-joo and Joy was last seen in 2021’s The One and Only wherein she played Sung Mi-do. She is also a member of the popular K-pop group Red Velvet. Meanwhile, director Kwon Seok-jang’s last directorial venture was 2021’s Bossam: Steal the Fate.

A sweet and simple feel-good show about the lives of those in Heedong Village, the Kdrama follows veterinarian Han Ji-yul, whose grandfather tricks him to take over the latter’s vet clinic in his native village for half a year while he tours Europe. As he gets used to the simple problems and life in the village, he meets police officer Ahn Ja-young, who helps him find pleasures in the small things in life as well as tide over the problems that come with shifting from a big town, such as Seoul to a small village like Huidong.
