Another week, another Korean thriller series is dropping on JioHotstar (previously Disney+ Hotstar), and this time it’s the much-anticipated Nine Puzzles Kdrama. Armed with a catchy name, this mystery thriller series is directed by Yoon Jong-bin and written by Lee Eun-mi. The series stars Kim Da-mi and Son Suk-ku in leading roles.
The series is also known as 나인 퍼즐 in its native language.
Nine Puzzles Kdrama: Plot Overview
The series centres around a young high school student, Yoon I-na, who becomes a witness to her beloved uncle’s murder. Unfortunately, the detective on the case, Kim Han-saem, deems her a suspect and eventually becomes convinced that she is the killer. Now, a decade later, I-na has become a criminal profiler and is one of the top people at her job. She’s a well-known face in criminal investigations and can decipher a murderer’s true intentions easily after studying a crime scene.
When fate brings her and Saem together once again on a case, however, the two butts heads and old & new suspicions arise to cause friction. Through this cat and mouse chase, they discover a shocking truth about I-na’s uncle’s murder that neither of them was prepared to uncover.
Cast and Characters
- Kim Da-mi plays the young and determined Yoon I-na, who is haunted by her past and the ordeal that she went through. It drives the work that she does in the present.
- Son Suk-ku plays Kim Han-saem, a seasoned detective who doubts I-na and whose first major case remained unsolved. He is obsessed with solving that one case, and fate (and a bunch of grisly murders) gives him the chance that he has been waiting for.
- Hyun Bong-sik plays Detective Choi San.
- Ji Jin-hee appears in a guest role as I-na’s beloved uncle, Yun Dong-hun.
- Other members include Kim Sung-kyun, Kwak Ja-hyoung, Kim Do-geon, Lee Joo-young, Jeong Man-sik, Jang Kyug-su, among others.
Release Schedule
The series comprises 11 episodes, released in three parts:
- Episodes 1–6: Released on May 21, 2025.
- Episodes 7–9: Scheduled for May 28, 2025.
- Episodes 10–11: Set to premiere on June 4, 2025.
Viewers in India can stream the series on Disney+ Hotstar, although it seems like the streaming platform will follow the schedule for Hyper Knife and release multiple episodes together on a later date.
