Nice to Not Meet You Episode 16 Recap

This episode begins, and Hyun-jun tells Jeong-sin that he wishes to take down Dae-ho together. They plan on going live on TV and broadcasting the entire thing so that there is no way for Dae-ho to escape this time. The interview happens, and here, both Hyun-jun and Se-na are present. At first, the interview goes on normally, but soon, Hyun-jun starts to reveal all the corruption done by Dae-ho. He reveals the entire thing without hiding anything at all.

Not only that, but in the interview here, Jeong-sin also comes and exposes everything that Dae-ho had been doing. The news becomes huge, and Dae-ho gets arrested as the proof against him is quite strong. However, Jeong-sin is facing a different kind of problem because everybody blames her for ruining the lives of all the actors. You see, Hyun-jun takes a financial hit from this because he was a part of Dae-ho’s company.

And now he even has to sell his own building and car to cover losses. Jeong-sin goes to meet with Hwang to ask about Hyun-jun’s situation, as she knew that he would not be truthful with her. Hwang lets her know that Hyun-jun has not only lost all his ad deals, but he’s also not getting any new projects. This obviously shatters Jeong-sin, and she plans on going to Syria for a reporting job so that the rumour that she and Hyun-jun are dating would die down.

Later, Jeong-sin and Hyun-jun go on an arcade date, and they have lots of fun there. After spending a romantic time, Jeong-sin finally tells Hyun-jun about her plans of going to the Syrian war zone. Obviously, Hyun-jun becomes extremely mad, and they fight intensely. When they finally meet again, they discuss the day of her leaving and end things with a hug. Ultimately, the last day of shooting comes for Hyun-jun, and he gives a phenomenal performance, but is also extremely sad that Jeong-sin has left for Syria. But before leaving, she manages to save Hyun-jun’s name, and the rating of his series goes up.

At an interview, Hyun-jun discloses how the series, Kang Pil-gu, has officially ended, and though he wanted it to conclude, he now misses the show. He also misses Jeong-sin and visits the place where they had their first date to remember their time together. Finally, Jeong-sin comes back, and they meet in a loving embrace. Things take a more humorous turn later in this episode when Hyun-jun gets more detective roles.

The series ends on a fun note, but weirdly enough, we did not see a single kissing scene between the leads. Though the romance was very minimal here, it worked in the end because of its light-hearted tone. The story is simple, and that is precisely why it works as a casual watch.
