You Are My Spring episode 8 recap

Ah, we again get to relive Young-do and Da-jeong hugging each other in the opening of You Are My Spring episode 8. I like how their relationship has gone from neighbours to friends to something more. The face Young-do makes every time he sees Da-jeong is priceless and too pure.
The next morning in You Are My Spring episode 8, there’s a lot of hugging going on everywhere – as lovers, friends, family hug each other everywhere, you cannot help but feel your heart going warm. In this aspect, Ga-jeong, too, meets Patrick and hugs him. The guy has been pining for her for far too long. So, this was a welcome change to see. The happiness all around made my heart swell!
On the other hand, Moon Mi-ran enlists Kang Tae-jung to find out what’s going on between Da-jeong and Young-do. Meanwhile, A-ri, Ha-Neul and Seung-won cook up wild theories at the café to justify why Da-jeong went to Young-do’s place late at night. Ga-jeong continues to take up an insane amount of time… just to be annoying.

Anyway, at a radio show, Young-do realises that the person who has written in is Da-jeong. The heartfelt letter touches him deeply and makes him think about his proposal for friendship. The comments are pretty funny but what Young-do says later is mushy and makes Da-jeong cry (and us as well!)
Later that night in You Are My Spring episode 8, the two discuss the post and the 300 comments shitting on Young-do. In a lengthy discussion about being together, Da-jeong tells him that they don’t have to promise to stay together forever. But however long they stay, it’s enough. I won’t spoil everything that she said because she said it pretty well and you should listen to it yourself.
The next day in You Are My Spring episode 8, Chase and Da-jeong run into each other when the kid that she is babysitting gets his ice cream on Chase’s jacket. When they go to get ice cream, Chase seems to be liking the idea of having a family and seems to be drawn to Da-jeong. Anyway, they spend a sweet minute in the park while the kid plays.

Young-do comes across Chase in the hospital in You Are My Spring episode 8. As Chase is trying to remove the ice cream stain from his jacket, Young-do remembers the night he saw Chae Jun trying to remove blood from his shirt. They talk about Nanum Jeil Church and the photo that he had found. However, Chase asks him to backoff since the case was closed.
That night, in a dark alley somewhere, a man smashes a bottle over another guy’s head.
Later on, there are entirely too many people at Da-jeong’s rooftop cookout (or… party?) Ga-jeong is there as well, so, you know, that’s annoying. However, when Young-do comes over to Da-jeong’s place after hearing a loud crash, that’s the funny part. Trying to make Young-do understand that she didn’t put two gingerbread cookies under a towel with their names written, she rips his shirt open. His reaction is awesome.
Da-jeong gets a phone call from Chase and asks her to meet him at the café in You Are My Spring episode 8. However, while waiting, Chase finds a paper rose on his desk, similar to the ones Chae Jun used to leave behind. He seems shocked or amused by it (although it’s a little difficult to understand since he holds a poker face really well). When Da-jeong sees him holding the rose though, she is beyond shocked and terrified. However, Young-do gets in there just in time and holds Da-jeong.

You Are My Spring episode 8, again, consists of a lot of fluff, especially with Ga-jeong. That angle was funny for a few episodes, but now it’s just repeating itself. The thrilling aspects have gone down, and the series feels more or less like a drama than a thriller. We are at the midpoint of the series and this unsure condition does not bode well for it. It remains to be seen what the rest of the episodes have in store for us.
You Are My Spring is streaming on Netflix.
