Control Z Season 2 review contains minor spoilers ahead-

Control Z Season 2 picks up from where it left in the first season. The hacker is unstoppable and everything keeps on growing complex like a never-ending maze, it has many twists and turns and no matter how close you think the end is, the maze extends. Season 2 majorly deals with the death of Luis and the intricate revenge plot that follows, planned by none other than our anonymous hacker. Raul, on the other hand, is seeking forgiveness for what he has done. That’ll be challenging to achieve, especially since he probably doesn’t feel particularly horrible about what he did. He’s merely sad since he no longer has any friends.

Season 1 majorly dealt with issues like toxic masculinity, bullying, depression, teen pregnancy, slut-shaming, homophobia, and scandalous high school politics. Control Z Season 2 builds on the same but focuses more on the plotlines and twists making it hard to decipher till the very end.

This series benefits from three crucial factors: good character development, performance, and intrigue. Though the characters don’t exactly break new ground in terms of appearance and tone, they all look and sound like people you’ve met or can connect to. And who knows, maybe you’ll see someone with a personality similar to yours or you can see a tiny bit of yourself in each of the characters.

Despite the mediocre ratings, Netflix renewed Control Z Season 1 for a second instalment. Since the second season ends on a cliffhanger, the series might be renewed for a third season again. What makes Control Z Season 2 an addictive edge-of-the-seat teen thriller apart from its plot is the cast and how they just fit perfectly. The characters can take the series anywhere and there is nothing that you can predict. Ana Valeria Becerril as Sofia yet again acts as the perfect protagonist for the series. She takes the series forward as the powerful and brainy female lead who doesn’t lose!

Every moment and every incident that takes viewers closer to the hacker and his dangerous truth is gripping. Nevertheless, the series is walking on a fine line between over-extending and exploiting its central theme. If Control Z Season 2 is renewed for a third season and chooses to walk on the same lines of whodunnit and who’s the hacker, in no time it’ll turn mundane and repetitive! Hoping that the series doesn’t do that.

STREAM IT! I am a fan of how coherently the series flows between season 1 and season 2. It doesn’t get boring or over the top and caters to the part of viewers that seeks thriller and suspense. There is much to discuss about Control Z Season 2, the main point being how the series deals with its character flaws and depicts its impacts on people and everyone around. It’s an entire package.

Control Z Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
