Cocaine Cowboys review contains spoilers –

We all know how the ’70s, ’80s and even ’90s were in the US. Drug dealers in every corner of the big cities. Murders, shootings, and lootings on the streets. Amongst many drug dealers in America were two such names that no one could forget. Sal Magluta and Willie Falcon, the Los Muchachos. The two high-school friends went from petty drug-selling dropouts to having a $2 billion drug empire in Miami.

Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami takes us through what became the starting point of the Los Muchachos to their end, and let us tell you, it was quite a ride. Their story starts from a common beginning, but suddenly escalates to a series of events that turned the lives of Sal and Willie upside down. Their cocaine business started from selling marijuana to the people they knew. Eventually, they began to sell cocaine. Then lots of it and lots more.

Instead of doing it outrightly, they created a business out of it. Everyone Sal and Willie knew was involved, their friends and their family. A whole chain of individuals became a part of their organization and each individual ran some operation or the other. What makes Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami really interesting is the storytelling style. Even though it is a documentary, the editing and music keep you engaged. Obviously along with the gripping real-life story.

The documentary also has a lot of data, both first hand and second hand. People who were involved with the case in real life are also a part of Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami. One such person is Peggy, Sal’s wife, the detective and the lawyers on the case and so on. On top of that, hundreds of photos, videos, texts and more, that were evidence of the cases are also a part of the film. Moreover, we also got a catchy original title track by Mr. Worldwide.

Worth The Watch?

Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami shows us that even though Sal and Willie ran a cocaine business, the two did not go low. Los Muchachos was also known as one of the best speedboat racing duo. Together, both of them won many races. Of course, they had top pieces of equipment needed through the million-dollar stash. It is quite unbelievable of a life where people have too much money.

Another thing that caught our attention was that during the time when their empire flourished, the crime rate was high. There were the Colombian and the Cuban drug lords who used to fight each other often. This resulted in many fatalities. However, Sal and Willie were not like that. They used to give a lot to those who needed it. They even paid for school equipment for their alumna.

Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami is an interesting documentary of the kings of the drug business in Miami. If you love watching a good film or series related to drug crimes, then you should certainly watch it. If you don’t have an interest in that genre, even then you should watch it. Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami is informative and entertaining.
