Captain Fall Review

Adult animated series are always extremely fun. BoJack was depressing and valuable in life lessons whereas Human Resources showed us love and hate in the most creative way possible. Captain Fall does something similar- it leaves you laughing, something one truly needs in these hard times.

Johnathan Fall isn’t a Captain when we meet him. He is trying to manage his academics but failing terribly. His social relations aren’t the best, nor is luck, apparently. But what Johnathan has is a good heart with intentions that are pure. The man means no harm and it is not on him that his life keeps throwing him googlies, one after the other.

After Johnathan finally is able to be our titular character aka Captain Fall, his misfortune follows him on the ship too. As he becomes the captain of a smuggling ship running an international cartel, unknowingly, Captain Fall faces the toughest challenge of his life. Throughout the show, he is on a journey to save this ship when the entire cartel is trying to sink it by putting the blame on his shoulders.

At the heart, Captain Fall has a genuine and unique story to tell. With a script that is punched with elements of laughter and fun, he is successful in making a footing for himself. But, ten episodes (no matter how small the runtime) do run out of a substantial story to lean on by the end. The structure breaks and there is a sense of repetition that would make you skip through certain parts.

There are moments of unpredictable adventure in the show but, if you are a movie buff you see most of them coming. That is not to so that the show stops being funny at any moment. The voice actors are terrific and you get a good laugh by the end of it all.

Captain Fall Final Verdict: Is It Worth the Watch?

So, the most important question that still stands is if this adult animated series is worth the watch or not. Well, this is no Big Mouth or Rick and Morty that will end up being a memorable show or classic anytime soon. Nonetheless, Captain Fall has moments of genuine fun with a sea-crazy energy that will make you sit through the show (with some amounts of sighs and i-told-you-so moments, yes).

We are going to say that this show is a perfect light binge-watch companion that you should not miss. In case, you aren’t in the mood for this, it is definitely a save-and-watch-later series, for it will always stay enjoyable no matter when you choose to watch it giving it a very redeeming quality against the lows.

You can watch all the episodes of Captain Fall now streaming on Netflix.
