My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 8 Recap

In this episode, we delve into Dabi’s tragic past and uncover how he managed to survive all these years. When he lost control of his flames and got severely burned, it was not his father who saved him but All For One. He rescued Dabi and took him to his hideout, intending to groom him as a backup for Tomura.

After three years, Dabi awoke, shocked to find himself alive and grown. Desperate to return home, he was warned that his treatment was incomplete and All For One had failed to fully heal him. Ignoring the warning, Dabi burned down the entire place and rushed home, only to face disappointment.

He discovered that nothing had changed—he was still a failure for his father and unable to compete with his younger brother. This realization fueled his deep-seated hatred for his family, particularly his father, whom he blamed for his suffering. Obsessed with surpassing Endeavor, Dabi studied his every move, determined to become the strongest, even at the cost of his own life.

Dabi’s singular drive fueled by hatred makes him one of the most tragic yet dangerous characters in My Hero Academia. His actions are driven solely by vengeance, with no regard for his own well-being, effectively making his mission a suicidal one where he aims to drag everyone else down with him.
