My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 2 Review: The Will Of A Hero

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 2 ReviewA new episode from season 7 of the famous My Hero Academia is here and it has the potential to be the best season so far. Let us look at how MHA Season 7 episode 1 fared.

My Hero Academia Season 7 Overview

My Hero Academia Season 7 or Boku no Hero Academia 7th Season (僕のヒーローアカデミア 第7期) is created by Kōhei Horikoshi. Here, the story is set in a world where almost everyone has superpowers, known as Quirks.  These powers are commonplace, but our hero, Izuku Midoriya, is a boy born without these so-called Quirks. However, he too has dreams of becoming a superhero.

The director of the anime is Nagasaki Kenji, and Nakayama Naomi, while Kuroda Yousuke will handle the script and Series Composition. Nagasaki Kenji previously worked on the previous seasons of My Hero Academia, No.6, Classroom☆Crisis, etc.

The opening song of My Hero Academia Season 7 will be Ta ga Tame (誰我為)” by TK from Ling tosite sigure, and the ending theme is Tsubomi (蕾)” by Omoinotake.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 2 Review The Will Of A Hero

Today’s episode was definitely my favourite one out of the few episodes that we have seen from this season. And after witnessing everything that goes down here, I doubt any other episode can be this level of epic. We start from the point where Cathleen is still fighting with Tomura. Before that, we see her doubt herself because of the limitations of her quirk, New Order. However, her spirits get lifted when others assure her that even if she feels like she is not powerful enough, they are going to support her on the battlefield.

Back in the midst of the battle, things are grave on both sides. Cathleen tries her best to keep Tomura from regenerating, by attacking him continuously, without giving a break. However, that is not enough, because of this, she comes up with a master plan that is sure to completely wipe out his existence. But what goes on after this is something that I should not spoil. I, thus, highly request everyone to watch the episode yourself to find out what exactly transpires.

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 2 Review The Will Of A Hero

This episode had it all. It is action-packed, keeps you on the edge of your seat and presents you with twists that will blow your mind. The buildup was masterful, and the big reveal was truly praiseworthy. As a non manga reader, I do not know whether they have done a good job of adapting the manga faithfully, but, I do know that if you have no prior idea about the source, even then, you will definitely enjoy this.

Other than that, the animation is also good, through which we sense the ongoing tension. The drama here also heightens the effect of the scenes as you feel for Cathleen and her resolve as a hero. She truly embodies the spirit of justice and turns out one of the most powerful and influential heroes after All Might.

Verdict

Today’s episode was absolutely brilliant, and I loved it. This season is promising to be a great journey, which we should all support as we are pretty close to the conclusion. Now that things are worse than ever, it will be interesting to see how Deku will manage to attain peace.
